You go stuff whoeverç—´ pockets you want but if I have any say in it amazon will continue being the largest retailer in the world. I usually do price check and hardly ever do I find a product thatç—´ cheaper by enough to pay shipping. And hitting the buy now with one click button is a lot less effort than getting off the couch to find a cc and then spending 5 minuets to fill out an order form. And I already know amazons customer service is top notch. How many hoops am I going to have to jump through to deal with the other seller if need arises? I really don稚 understand the the hate from a few members here. Other than the fact Jeff is way more successful then the few of you ever will be combined so I guess youæ±*e jealous.

This is my attitude as well besides the fact that here in rural Vermont my shopping choices are far and few between and then they usually don't have the specific item I am looking for.
I do search the 'net for other options but more often than not , the big A gets my biz.

Amazon is a great starting point for my shopping experience and they do have top notch customer service. It's a business model that has worked out very well, at the expense of employees' soul from what I've read on the 'net.

First off they chose to work there. Second I’ve heard the pay is good. I don’t really care. I’d never get any work done if I had to fully research every place I bought from.

Thats funny because a few years ago, I couldn't hardy find any spot lights! I've purchased, mounted and used maybe 16 LED lights (none came on a light bar) onto machines. I still use spot types but I'm not sure the spread of light is all that much different between them and floods... . Here is some of them we've used

I'm sure this topic has been covered before but I'm having a heck of a time finding a led bar that's FLOOD only on Amazon. I keep seeing spot/flood combo but I'm wanting strictly a bar that's flood only. I'm trying to keep the profile low vs the typical square or round flood lights. Let me know if you've purchased such animal from Amazon that's a good bang for the buck, well for Chinese crap anyway

I've been using the Maxxima floods, as well as a few others, for the last 6 or so years. Link is below for my local store. I like these rather than a bar because they can be aimed individually. With the wide pattern they can be aimed a bit outward for a really wide lit area. Bought 4 last week for the L4240 and haven't installed them yet. Some people are probably drawn to light bars because they look neat and they enjoy saying "light bar" rather than "light". Sort of like the "point" in "price point".

As I mentioned in another thread, LED's have a couple undesirable properties for me. The biggest is when I'm finish mowing at night. Regular old halogen lighting seemed to provide a better definition between the cut and uncut grass. I may only use 2 LEDs on the rear of the L4240 and leave the factory front lights on because of this. Need to do some experimenting.

The second is the bright spillage of light. This isn't a problem when you're in the tractor seat, but when I'm working near a road I'm sure it annoys passing motorists. If I see a car coming I turn the LEDs off for a few seconds till it passes. When I'm in the truck on the road it irks me when some oncoming poser/mall crawler with a bunch of aftermarket LEDs blinds me. It should be an acceptable practice to follow them home and spray paint their lights:)

Your points are very valid, LED bars suck, IMHO. They're everywhere, mostly inefficient and have become a boutique status symbol for lots of folks.

I looked at my stash of flood work lamps and looks like I got three of them floating around in the tool box. I'll use one of them for the rear and purchase a short LED bar for the front.

I totally agree with you on the light temperature of LEDs and how they muck with our vision. Our eyes aren't made to work with the 6000+ cold white, almost bluish light that these LED bars put out these days. I prefer a warm white, around 3500 temperature for my eyes to work correctly.

Those fellas with aftermarket HIDs and LED headlight conversion are just a nuisance on the road.

A hundred sellers on i-net and you pick the one that does not have what you want.... Maybe, just maybe one of the 99 others may have what you want....

You have fallen into the Amazon marketing trap.... Escape as quick as you can....

Think I would visit web page for whatever "brand"and read specs and see if the have light patterns graphics to backup their claims...

Example...

2" Slim Off-Road LED Light Bars - 35W - 5, Lumens | Super Bright LEDs

My local farm & ranch supply has 50 different LED lamps on display board, flip switch get blinded...

Dale

"The Amazon marketing trap"..... exactly correct!

People sign up for "Amazon Prime" for $119/ year, and they are hooked!

If you are in a hurry, I guess it works, but if you care about cost it does not.

Well....sometimes it does, but.....many times it does not.

I need some lights on my lawnmower. They have to be pods, no room for a bar. They’ll likely get mangled by trees so cheap is a requirement. I haven’t put a lot of effort into looking but flood is a requirement and most of the cheap LEDs are spot. I’m not set on LEDs but with the limited ability of the lawnmower charging system I think it’s the only practical option.

Re: pricing at Amazon, last week I went to McMaster-Carr online to reorder some fuel-resistant tubing I use and thought to myself geez at 15 bucks for a 10 foot length this stuff is getting kinda pricey so I popped over to Amazon and found the same item with what looked like a copy and pasted item description direct from McMaster Carr, for 50 bucks a 10 foot length. Fifty bucks!

There've been a few things that Amazons prices are highly inflated over other sources, each time I find em I point it out to my Bride.

PS, we're a prime member, and if y'all haven't checked out McMaster Carr, I usually receive next day or second day at the latest.
