Update on RX6010 with low hours motor failure

Does Kioti make their own engines?

It seems to me most of the big guys use engines manufactured by some other company.

If that is the case, is this same engine in other brands of tractors?

Daedong is the engine manufacturer and parent company of Kioti. They did joint ventures with Kubota in the 80s providing transmissions & sheet metal but were still Kubota engines. They also did like LS and made other brand tractors but not as much as LS. Cub Cadet, JCB, Landini, Bobcat.

Looks like they have a venture with John Deere now too, but I don't think that's any US market stuff. John Deere 6R SERIES > PRODUCT

I always figure that tractor manufacturers put an hour meter on their tractors as a reminder to operators that at some time something will break. That’s the only real tractor guarantee there is regardless of brand!
If the OP isn’t prepared to understand that, then he shouldn’t own a tractor at all.... further, if he isn’t prepared to offer some problem detail he shouldn’t post the problem on this site. He isn’t looking for help and is obviously just stirring up the Kioti owners hornets nest!
Merry Christmas folks and may this thread end before 2019!

It's the "right" thing to do. It's not a matter of something wearing out. either normally or prematurely, but something critical and expensive breaking when it simply shouldn't.

If you hit a bump in your pickup a year or two after warranty and the entire thing broke in two, don't you think the manufacturer is obligated to do something?

ABSOLUTELY YES !!!
You done broke da code!

And that's why I think its so important to find out what exactly happened to OP's tractor. We cannot place judgement with what little facts are known. And those questions are still unanswered. OP came to the forum, and of his only 10 comments as a member, complained about his tractor and the dealer, provided vague information about the problem, Praised other brands, and answered no questions asking for more details of the problem.

Now I'm not saying OP VTDT is scamming us, But I AM saying at this point, one can not tell the difference.

Yes, it's true you have to draw a line somewhere. We get that.

On the other hand, isn't it odd that if it broke with 10,000 hours on it at 3 years and 364 days Kioti would say "It's manufacturer's problem, we'll fix" but at 400 hours (and 2 days older than the 10,000hr machine) it's an owner problem.

Yep, you have to draw a line somewhere, I get that, but it sucks for OP if he wasn't responsible and it was a random low hour manufacturer defect. Some would even say not fair.

The problem here isn稚 the feeling of unfair one would get but rather the commitment to it that is perceived!

I have had things fail outside of warranty both close to it and then again outside it for a decent time frame. Yes I know the feeling but the harsh reality is/was that in most cases I had to suck it up and pay the repair cost or sell at a loss, not getting any sympathy from strangers at all.
I have also experianced help outside warranty but believe me it wasn稚 free, it wasn稚 free from aggravation, time or cost. As I have posted before when it does happen it痴 rarely the manufacture coffins up the hole cost and you could bet your last dollar it would be the same 90% of the time with anything that comes with an engine if you could get any help at all.
I believe I saw someplace the age being 61, let痴 be real here I think it痴 time to put the Big Boy pants on!
Suck it up and deal with the problem! Life is not fair, never has been!
Remember the kid who always said I,m taking my ball home now! Thats the feeling I get from the OP and currently feel no sympathy for this type of behavior at all especially from a grown man.
If my son started talking and thinking as this person has at this age I,d probably slap him upside the head and ask him if he wanted to go to his room! Maybe it would snap him out of it!

Sorry folks but he came here started to talk then diddnt like the way it went or the things said, then everyone wants to try and guess at his feelings and true intent, when all along it was clear to me.
He hadn稚 a clue one way or the other but somehow wants his feelings justified. Sorry but the world I live in is the real one and it痴 Not Fair and never Has been!

Grow Up!

Good honest & fair post...My feelings also.I think the bottom line is to many folks live check to check and then when something catastrophic happens its the tractor/car/truck dealers fault.Note: set back enough $$ to take care of your own problems that arise and don't expect others to take care of your repairs once you are out of your warranty period.

**Final update**

Two valve seats let go causing the damage.

450 easy hours, motor replaced, no help what so ever from Kioti.

And thanks for all the support from so many people! Don’t worry kids, my big boy pants are fully on. I just posted here so other people with know about this issue. Talk about things being not all unicorns and rainbows and I am somehow at fault or unrealistic, in light of how some people have gone to support the brand is indicative of how deeply many people inbide in their Kool-Aid.

Enjoy your tractors and I hope you have better luck than I did.
