I have been waiting almost a year for a glass door my "LG" tractor. This is what LS used to call themselves.
Not only have I been waiting for a year for this thing but they sent two others saying they are the correct one to the dealer only to find out that neither of them were correct. Both had the wrong mounting holes on one of the two was for the other side.
I also needed a roof cover for the airconditioning opening but they couldn't even tell me what the part number was.

I can go to the dealer of the "Green and yellow" tractors and still get parts for 50 year old tractors.....because they are built in America.

LS (Literally Sucks.)

So never again will I buy NOR WILL I RECOMMEND on of their tractors. Getting the tractor is one thing but getting support is a totally different story.
They take you money and run!!!

Glenn.

So do you have the out of business tractor brand "Montana" ( green tractor) Which was made by contract with LG or do you have a new blue LS tractor with full dealer support?

In fairness you should point out the brand you own is Montana. I guess you liked the low price when you bought it.

It will be interesting to see how TYM's purchase of the Branson brand works out in the years ahead.

I bought a JD that couldn't shift gears. They took my money and ran too.

I think your mistaken that the country of origin is the cause. Plus, you probably wouldn't have liked the cost of a glass door for the other makes.

Wasn't the "Montana" brand bought and sold through LG much like RK tractors with TYM? Difference is RK is backed by a "retail" store much like Cabela's who had their brand of tractors and we all know what happened to them! This was another reason why I didn't want a tractor "re badged" so to speak from another tractor company.

I know LS has been making motors for other tractor companies for many years. We also know LS builds the New Holland Line up of AG and now compact tractor line up. This was a concern of mine when looking at a tractor manufacture.

So to the OP's question and frustrations, what "Warranty" did Montana tractors give to their customers? If LG did not do "Full Dealer Support" warranty work, where were clients to go for service?

To the OP.

I guess you didn't know that the smaller deere tractors aren't made in the USA either...

Yes, they get some "final assembly" in the US, but with parts from China and other countries...

BTW, do you think all the parts for THOSE deere tractors will be available 50 years from now? I bet all of the parts won't be available even 30 years from now...

Yugo's were cheap too and I bet it's hard to get parts now.

I knew a guy that drove one. I totally forgot about that. How about a second hand Nivia?

The green & yellow are at best assembled in America. JD hasn't build a tractor below 100hp in America for decades, they are all manufactured abroad and painted green, Now I think that all below 150hp are build abroad. JD used to build tractors and have garden tracts built for them, but now they concentrate only on the big stuff. If you don't buy agricultural tractors there are better buy elsewhere and even if you buy agricultural tractors you can find better value in other brands.

Hummmm I believe the Deere 4 series is made in Georgia.

Well, My Dad's Father trucked Tractors out of Manheim Germany in the 30/40s and thats still where our 6200 came out of. I think the fuel lines they used were left from the 30/40s though. Over there, the John Deeres are more of a Economy Tractor.

Our JD 640 Loader was made in Welland Canada, near Niagara Falls, at the JD Canadian HQ location. Not sure they do that anymore. I'm guessing not.

I doubt it, they are probably assembled in Georgia. JD hasn't made small tractors for decades. If you check you'll find the engine is made by somebody else so for the front axle (carraro if lucky) loader probably made in the US but not by JD. Jd has discovered that their name and marketing savvy allowed to make more money by selling something manufactured elsewhere, by somebody else than their own product.

On my wife's Deere x744 ID tag it says "Deere & Company Moline, Illinois Made in USA"

That applies only to the part of which it is attached, which could even be the seat. Have a good look at the axles and the engine block.

Being that it says it on the serial number tag that is on the frame, it seems it means more than a sticker on the seat......
