I have been waiting almost a year for a glass door my "LG" tractor. This is what LS used to call themselves.
Not only have I been waiting for a year for this thing but they sent two others saying they are the correct one to the dealer only to find out that neither of them were correct. Both had the wrong mounting holes on one of the two was for the other side.
I also needed a roof cover for the airconditioning opening but they couldn't even tell me what the part number was.

I can go to the dealer of the "Green and yellow" tractors and still get parts for 50 year old tractors.....because they are built in America.

LS (Literally Sucks.)

So never again will I buy NOR WILL I RECOMMEND on of their tractors. Getting the tractor is one thing but getting support is a totally different story.
They take you money and run!!!

Glenn.

I was in India in 2018. On the highway in the Province of Rajasthan I saw many semi trailers loaded with tractors. There were trucks carrying Massey Fergusons, New Hollands and John Deere tractors.

The VIN number should tell you in what country a tractor was assembled/manufactured.

Lots of "ifs", "but's" and "maybe's" trying to discover who built the engine/transmission and if it was built by a third party under license.

It's the way of the world these days in a cut-throat market.

they were probably for distribution to the local dealers, as even India needs to use tractors for various things.. the U.S. makes them here for U.S. consumption, many other Countries do the same. United States[edit]
Fargo, North Dakota: tractors
Grand Island, Nebraska: combines and hay and forage equipment
New Holland, Pennsylvania: balers, hay and forage equipment
Racine, Wisconsin: tractor assembly, transmissions

I bought a JD 3720 in 2010.

I looked at the next size bigger a 4720, but I thought the smooth sounding and tested and tried Yanmar engine in the 3720 gave it an edge over the JD built engine in the 47XX tractor. Although the Deere 4720 engine could be better. Who knows. I have owned at least half a dozen Yanmar engines in products over the years and love them.

Either way, just because a tractor company makes their own engines, that doesn't hold any more value over a company the installs a tried and trued imported engine. I really do not think any tractor company makes every part for their machines. It would be more cost effective buying parts from others that can make them cheaper and pass the savings to the customer.

Up until 10 years ago I have been to a few JD factories in the US and watched them make CUT tractors. They do not make every steekin' part for their tractors but still I would call them an American company because that is where the headquarters is along with most of their factories.

The J.D. 2350 tractor which I purchased new long ago was made in Germany, originally shipped to Canada and eventually found it's way into the U.S. And the tractor and bucket loader were assembled with S.A.E and metric hardware. I always referred to it as my INTERNATIONAL tractor. :D

My International Harvester 354 tractor was made in England.

So much for purchasing "Made in America" products. :confused3:

I do believe my Ford NAA Jubilee is 100% North America... but I have been wrong before.

As usual, this topical has roamed much. I personally care very little where a machine was built. I do care how they treated there people. The quality of the machine, its cost and serviceability.

Yea, as usual with most topics, after several pages of comments, the main topic has most likely run it's course and begins to stray. Very few that don't. ;)

Think of it as Serendipity or Brainstorming... the exchange of ideas leading to the unimagined.

Many advances in science/industry/tech came about through serendipitous paths when a light goes off in your head and this is a good thing and even highly encouraged as it leads to innovation... at least here in Silicon Valley.

Last small deeres I looked at, (don't remember the models) the motor was built in Mexico, the tranny was built in India, BUT the deer sales person proudly informed me that the tranny was designed in Japan...

When I looked at the loaders, the ones I looked at, said "made in china" on them, and some of the welds were already bleeding rust.

SO, I say "assembled" in the US, would be more accurate!
