LG is a very large Parent company and Global presents in the world. LS is also a very large company in the Global market. For LS to start making their own tractors, it was the best thing in my opinion. Building NH tractors comes with a price tag just like JD and Kubota. Just to have that badge stating its a NH.

Everybody that checks out my tractor is very impressed with it. As for NH being able to service LS tractors but not do warranty work is the "only" beef I have with them. There is no reason why they cannot perform this service and LS not keep a separate system log for these tractors. At least I can get parts for my tractor years down the road when my warranty is long gone at the NH dealers I have near me.

I am really bummed for the OP and I can completely understand his frustration on the lack of being able to get the correct part for his tractor.

After reading a thread like this it makes me think....A dangerous activity at the best of times

BTW, as the new owner of a JD made in 1988, I can attest that parts can be difficult to find and expensive....but anyway.

Except for the gentleman in Europe, no one has bashed Kubota. That to me is very telling.

As many owners are hobby enthusiasts who put on less than 100 hrs a year I see two strategies.

One, is to buy primarily on price, and hope that parts will not be needed down the road. The other is to buy from an established brand, and hope they will still support the machine as it ages.

For the mechanically inept, a servicing dealer is a necessity. Knowing brand X is actually made by brand Y is not much good if the brand Y dealer will not work on the machine.

In my case, it adds another point to going with a Kubota or Mahindra if/when I upgrade.

I'm not bashing Kubota, they have never tryed hard to compete I Europe, and the M7 is the first try on advanced tractors. And it was a response to the Deutz video.

The M7 is the first serious attempt to play, and as far as I know the engine and cab is Kubota, the rest is ZF and Bosch hydraulic?, is it a ZF front axle? It's very hard to compete in the high tech market.

Kubota is one of the few manufacturers that makes its own engine and parts, it could be that ZF makes their KVT transmission, don't know about the hydraulics, but Bosch doesn't enjoy anymore the reputation it once had.

All these wide ranging responses here remind me why I like buying from a mature company's that "hopefully" will be around for another 100 years. That doesn't mean JD or Kubota is automatically better or that LS is poor quality. Residing here, we need machines to be serviced and our choice is either JD or Kiote.

Keep in mind the OP does NOT own an LS tractor. He owns a Montana tractor. A brand that went out of business several years ago. The fact that he can get some parts from LS is a bonus. It is not guaranteed. He bought a brand that went belly up after only a few years in the marketplace. Look the OP is PO'd, I get that, but trying to tar LS with the brush of poor service is just flat out wrong. LS did not make his tractor, His tractor was a venture by some entrepreneur in Arkansas who contracted LG to build him some tractors. It didn't work out. Such is life.

many people today will buy the cheapest junk they can afford, and then, when it breaks down, just scrap it, and buy a new one, possibly a different brand!..

Yugo's were cheap too and I bet it's hard to get parts now.

Two beer cans (emptied just prior to repair is best) and half roll of duct tape is all that is required to repair them. :D

Yugoslavia don't exist anymore, it was taken over, so, yeah, you'd have to get parts custom made in some Country that still exists to get parts made..
