Good God Man, how bad of a shot are you?!!

Not bad at all. I feel comfortable with my 300 win out past 500 meters. However, with some certain semi auto trigger groups, a bump stock is nothing per burning through ammo with some rifles with mil surplus ammo AND being accurate.

As I've said before, when I first moved here, guys were shooting at night which irritated me because I was trying to sleep. But then it dawned on me, if they can shoot at night, so can I. I am however a good neighbor though because I generally use a can when shooting at night (besides that, I don't want to wake up the whole house LOL).

I used to shoot 200,300, and 500 with a .308 and receiver sights (M1A1) till cumo shoved his f-ing safe act down our throats.
Miss those matches. That little black looks pretty small with my eyes now days.

You could always join a gang and take up shooting again.

Years ago, I remember the guy who took the pic because we were out back sighting in his deer rifle. I'm in my 50's and use glasses, can't use open sights now past 100 yards now LOL

THIS is why I moved to the country. Pic is of nephew taken years ago. He loved shooting so much that he's now stationed in Germany. Don't think a HOA would allow this:laughing:

That stock doesn't look extended. What kind of sight is that?

If the question is directed towards me, what rifle?

Assuming the AR (stock not extended), an EO tech sight.

I used to work up around Potsdam, Tupper Lake, and down around Booneville at various times between 2000 & 2004, when I changed jobs.
Upstate NY is great country, and I was ready to move there.

I agree, it (upstate NY) is great country. I was there in my life before you, prior to 2000. Some fabulous whitewater around Lake Placid.

Came to NC as a civilian in 2002. Was familiar with Eastern North Carolina back in the early 80's, but the south never interested me because I thought it was all flat and hot in the south.

The reality is the highest point in North Carolina is higher than any point in Pa, WV, NY, NH and Maine (ironically enough in my bum years, I've been to all of them, west of the rockies is a different scale, much larger).

My point is if you go down south in the right places, it's a lot like up north, but the winters aren't as bad and the taxes are no where near as high. You can get some decent snow in Western NC and other places in the south including SC, Tenn and Georgia, but nothing like Tug Hill NY LMAO.

However, ironically enough, and this is a FACT, you can be in the middle of nowhere on a dirt road miles from ANYWHERE in Idaho or Montana (let alone the east coast) and you will find litter in places you just scratch you head over. People kind of ruin it for some reason.

I have found much the same about NC after most of a lifetime in the Hudson Valley. My sister says it is the same mountains, just the other end of the range. I figured out well before we moved that anything east of Raleigh was a non-starter.

You probably spend more time around Charolette or Hickory if you want to go to a urban ennvirnonment, but if you ever get up around Winston and want to shoot, shoot me off a PM (I'm in Yadkin county west of Winston off 421). Would be nice to host a
fellow / former New Yorker (state, not the city LOL).
