Your 1/2 ton Chevy with 5.3L is "matching performance" to a Ram 2500 with 6.4L?? In what way?
Acceleration and holding it's speed on hills. IF, I'm burning more gas, I expect to get better performance...

14 mpg is pretty good. That's a weird sentence....

But my previous was a 5.4 F150 crew cab. Pretty much same as my current truck but it was 5.4 V8 & current one is the ecoboost. Anyway, my 5.4 was a dog. 12 mpg was about best case, towing even a small utility trailer with ATV was 10 mpg. I expected huge gains with the ecoboost and probably average 18 - never the full amount they advertised....but I have a hard time not driving it like a camaro either.....

Considering how much more truck you got, 14 is pretty good I'd say.

Ha, ha - yesterday I was out just sitting in the truck. I thought - man, I've got most of this dashboard thing figured out. Then I turned the truck on.

I found that helpful suggestions from the digital display really don't help me. I'm trying to "pair up" my new iPhone with something or other on the truck. The "truck" assumes I understand the new terminology used in its "helpful hints". I don't. Back to help from my son.

And my more basic question. Why would I want to "pair up" my iPhone anyhow.

I called SiriusXM tech support. The poor fellow on the other end just could not comprehend that I wouldn't want/need SiriusXM Guardian. Hey, it's FREE. I tried to explain - what good is FREE or "it costs a million dollars" if I don't have cell phone service at this remote location( my home). It was simply outside his box.

I have found that about 75% of the areas where I go will have no cell phone service. As the tech at Iridium said - " there is always satellite phone service". Yeah - when my next boat comes in.

Besides - I have not ventured out into the hinterlands just so I can talk to somebody on a phone or listen to the crap that they call music today.

GIVE ME A BREAK...........

If you have no cell service where you want to go, you might think about that HF mobile rig I mentioned earlier? :) Or maybe a vhf/uhf rig if you have good repeater coverage. I have both now in my Silverado. You never know when you might need a little assistance.

If you pair your phone to the truck you can make and receive calls with the truck controls. You can also read and respond to texts with the truck controls. Makes life a whole lot easier and safer if you want to use your phone in your truck. And why is it called a "Taco Wagon" ?, Are you a food vendor?

Somewhere along the line in the 145+ comments, someone mentioned the truck was assembled in Mexico, and would likely maybe have some old taco wrappers left behind. Hence tacowagen .

My 2016 GMC was built in Mexico as well as my wife's new VW. Taco Tuesday I say. And ironically enough my Nissan Titan was assembled in Canton MS.

Nissan Titan made in America. The Titan was designed in California, engineered in Michigan and is assembled in Canton, Mississippi. Although the transmission is sourced from Japan, all of the engines are made in America

My 14 Silverado 1500 was made in Mexico, if you have a 2500 or 3500 I think they are made in the US.
