Buying Advice New L3560 Limited and Standard Versions

/ New L3560 Limited and Standard Versions #21
Talked to another dealer, and they said much the same as the rep told you, Grateful. Step, CC, and work lights. Right now I'm trying to find out if it's possible to add the lights back in easily and trying to work out a test drive.

I'm seriously considering upgrading. I have several reasons, front work lights are a big one. Rear work lights, heat/ac, hip level fueling, better loader, hp to weight, tNt, and a few more. Plugged some numbers and trading in the L3301 gets me basically the same payment if I throw in a bit of dosh.

Only question is if I can stomach extending out my payments a few more years.

And if I can survive wanting a little machine for garden duty even more than I do now.

This is how tractor hoarding starts, isn't it?

Been there, done that almost exactly. My L3200 is now a L4060HST. Only 8 more HP, but double the tractor. So actually a noticably worse power to weight ratio. Even worse comparing a L3301 to a L3560. But weight is what does work, unless its PTO or roading. Unfortunately for me I do a lot of mowing & roading. Wish I had more HP, but not disappointed in my choice. Colorado altitude & lack of oxygen is over a 15% HP tax. So less of an issue for the rest of the country not on the edge of the Rockies. The cab is so nice. Not dusty in the summer & I can plow snow in a Tshirt & shorts if I felt like it.

I'm going to bet they use the same wiring harness for the stripped down model. That means you just need to plug in the switch & lights. The radio & rear lights wiring is already that way for all the other Grands. It would cost them more to make & stock a stripped down wiring harness unique to just 1 tractor instead of using the same exact harness that's in every other Grand.

The rear hydraulics on the Grands suck. Massive leakdown issues on the valves even after some valves were replaced. 1 valve is decent now, but I need to take mine in again for the other. No decent aftermarket options due to fitting under the cab, so you are stuck with OEM & hoping/complaining until you get ones that dont suck. Loader valves are perfect though & dont budge in weeks.

The TnT cylinders my dealer installed were crap. Leaky as **** & didnt fit properly for all 3 pair. I ended up waiting forever for a pair from MtnViewRanch at FitRite. But it was worth the wait. They fit perfectly.

It would not surprise me if the wiring is there for the worklights. One sales rep. that was at the show we were talking to said someone in parts added up everything they left off and it would be cheaper to add them back on than going with the std edition but who knows if the wiring is there for sure for the lights and the cruise and the cruise may have to be programmed since it appears to be electronic now and not mechanical.

Fitrite actually lists as almost the same as OEM, so that's something I would rather do. Better to support a small shop where practical. What are his lead times?

Edit-Your 4060 would actually be almost the same as a 3560 for me here at sea level, if I did the math right. 40-15%=34.

It sure these days, but a month or 2 easily.

Ya, the altitude penalty looks about right. Power to traction is fine. Put power to sustain max speed on a hill is a little lacking, as is power to run a 8' flail. If I'd had a better budget I'd have gotten a bit bigger engine. But not disappointed with the L4060HSTC at all (other than rear hydraulic valves).

I have Hoobers bringing in a LE for me to test out this Saturday, so I'll be able to say for sure what's there and what's not. They seem pretty sure they can put lights on the front, even if they're not OEM.

Both the Limited and Standard version of the 3560 having the mid PTO option - why isn't the MMM available?
Thanks!

Don’t believe a MMM has ever been an option for the Grand L’s. Mid PTO is to power front mounted implements.

Even my L3301 is larger than what I'd want to mow with, and if you're needing to mow with something that big a rear drag finish mower is cheaper and will typically do a better job. I'm guessing they did a ROI and decided that tooling up a deck wouldn't make them much money. How many people actually mow with a 3R? How many people went for a MMM on the previous Grand Ls?

They do offer that front flail, and if I had the money I'd grab one, better than a 3PT brush cutter, or a 3PT flail. I'd also get a 6060 and all the front attachments while I'm spending money I don't have.

I'm guessing you have one for the L3240?

I do have a MMM for my GL3240 and it does a good job. I have been looking for a cabbed tractor that would offer the amenities of the Grand L's and a MMM but yet do other work that requires a certain size and weight. The 3560 may be to heavy for the MMM utilization anyway?
Thanks!
