Cab work lights changed over to LED units

Original 2 pin Power connector for VHF/UHF - Radio Side | Powerwerx or Original 2 pin Power connector for VHF/UHF Power cords - Power source side | Powerwerx fits the plug on the fender. Don't remember gender offhand. Have been a little curious on the stock can light plugs myself but never looked as I ran new overkill power.

Also the OEM rear light kit is just 2 lights & a switch. Pull the right plastic cover under the front light switch (push in the center of the plastic pins to get them to release). Then just connect the switch to the plug sitting right there in the OEM wiring harness. Plug in & bolt on lights. Dead easy & with the crap halogens not worth the $150 the OEM kit costs. Just need to find the part number of the OEM switch & the connector to put on your LEDs & you can have a better than OEM solution that looks as good or better.

"But I found a cheap pack of plugs that match the factory wiring so nothing on the tractor is altered."

Can you share info what you used and how one goes about procuring? I have another tractor I'll be converting the work lights and it would be nice to match up with the stock Kubota connectors.

There's some pics in there. I looked up what the factory bulbs were on mine. H11 I think. Then I searched Amazon for h11 connector kits and tadaa. A clean plug and play installation.

Very nice. I replaced mine front and rear with the 9" lights. Remarkable difference. But I found a cheap pack of plugs that match the factory wiring so nothing on the tractor is altered.

Hi Jay. I want to change our my Factory oem work lights to some LED's but don't want to be cutting off the ends of the lights if I can avoid it.

But you have different connectors than my oem light kits have. Looks like you have some Deutsch connectors. Mine are not as waterproof.

I have not been able to find anything to match.

I have attached a pic, but it's not a real great picture.

Thanks!

Tim,
I replied direct to your Comcast email, not sure if that went through or not. What does the rest of the light look like? On mine the wire harness plugged directly into the back of the bulb. it appears your light has a pigtail coming off of it. So inside the light must be another connection to the bulb. If this is the case you could unplug the light where you show in the picture, then cut that pigtail off the old light and attach it to the new one. If you left enough wire a new connector could be added to the old light to still allow it to be used. In order to better see what that connector is you would need to unplug it and look at the ends.

Hi JLwoodworks.

Yes, I got the Comcast email, thanks, I think they passed in the night.

These connectors have been the bain of this project. I think ultimately, I will end up cutting off the ends of the Kubota lights I remove and re-use the ends. I will probably use some good quality bullet connectors on the ends of the wires so, if necessary, I can just plug the connector ends back onto the old lights to use them (or sell them).

I just hate to cut the connectors on the tractor end, but I'll do whatever I have to do to get my LED's mounted. I don't think there is enough slack on the tractor wire end to attach some good Deutsch connectors..... bullet may be he best solution.

Thanks for your help.

I still find it unbelievable that Kubota Parts Dept. does not have a supply of the connectors used on their products !

I've been buying these connectors, weatherpack style.
MUYI 10 Kit 2 Pin Way Waterproof Electrical Connector 1.5mm Series Terminals Heat Shrink https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014IU2EE2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_YDjACbWNHBCQN

You could use something like that to reuse the old lights. Or not worry about it at all. There's a reason they're getting replaced.

Thanks JLwoodworks.

I agree the light aren't really worth saving, but I figured just in case something happens to my LED lights, I have a back-up.

I wish the weather would warm up a bit so I am more motivated to go outside to do this project. :.)
