Returning fluid directly to tank

Wonder why they can't tie into a tank line? Guessing the tank line flows through a priority valve and still would restrict flow?

Why don't you buy another fill plug then drill and tap it????

That would disable the 3 point hitch.

Guess the Kubota hydraulics are different than my old JD855 was. The power beyond didn't disable the 3pt on it that I'm aware of. I only used it one time to test a loader so I can't be sure of that. Pretty sure the power beyond is used for 3pt log splitters all the time.

All that said I don't know that a post driver on a tractor that small is going to work.

If the dealer is stumped on a simple hydraulic return location I would be very reluctant to let them continue the work. Running a return into a tee for the loader return should not be a problem. I do not like the idea of running a return through the drain plug as where does dirt and fine metals, and moisture go that gets in the oil when it is not caught by the filter? It settles to the bottom of the sump and where is the drain plug? At the bottem of the sump. So every time you use the post driver the return oil will stir up the oil in the bottom of the sump and cause the dirt, water, and metals to be suspended in the oil and flow through system.

I don’t think you’re fully understanding the problem. Go back and reread the thread.

Talked to my dealer this morning. For some reason they can't use a Y so he's going to put a 90 on the drain plug and use it. Hope it works.

I don't think it will work. It won't let the return oil flow fast enough.

Also find out what size hose he is using. The bigger, the better.

you could possibly priority flow divide and then plumb to tank

Could you use a tank and a 12 volt pump that pumps the contents of the tank back to the tractor tank? That way the post driver dumps into the tank which the electric pump then empties back into the tractor?

While a decent idea in thought it would not work as there is constant flow from the tractor to a valve on the driver and a constant flow of return oil to the tractor. You would have to have a pump in the tank equal in GPM and PSI to that of the tractor to keep up or else you would run the tractor dry.

I would also shy away from a return from your driver into the bottom if the tractor, it will get the stuff from the bottom, find a way to braze a nipple to the fill port and go that route.
