Now a L4060 had B2650
I made a set of forks they work good but the hold down are not that great I used a treated 5/8 rod and welded a washer in the botthem but it hard to get them real good . i need to find a way to get a flat bearing in there some how.The one in the pic are something like I have but whit a washer in the end .Any one ever done some thing like that

Perhaps your washer is the problem. Too much smooth surface to skid around.

Try using JUST the bolt as it may “bite” better. Or go up a size or two in diameter.

Yep, most use just the end of the bolt (or the pointed end of the bolt) so that they will "dig in" and keep it from sliding around.

I saw lot of them have a set up like a vise clamp style like this

I use 2-1"x 4" bolt on each fork.

I bought swivel pads to put on the hold down bolts, they work really well.

handtools where did you purchase the swivel pads from? They appear to be well made. Do you have a link you could post?

In the photo they look like a 15/16” bolt head which would make them 5/8” D

Nope there 16/16" bolts, when I bought them I ran the threads up higher with 16/16" thread die. The bolts are going through doubled up truck spring.
Here's a picture of my homemade 16/16" wrench, made out of truck spring.
