Utility Tractors Made in India

A friend worked at Ford Assembly, Oakville. Guys would set fire inside a dash. Or stick a hardened punch in the chain of the line, so maintenance would search for hours for the punch and the guys could watch the hockey game. And, they wonder why, doing business in other countries where people want to work is more desireable/profitable.

India has done a great job for many decades pumping out heavy, relatively simple, well regarded tractors. I think a lot of manufacturing
expertise came from the English, and the Perkins engineered engines they build are equally well regarded. But if you want a deluxe cab tractor with all the bells and whistles usually they come from Japan, Korea and the US.

Mahindra is the largest tractor company in the world because they build durable heavy tractors for second and third world countries.
And somewhat recently first world like us. My personal feeling is if you want sophistication, look where the best cars are made. My new Audi Q5 is built in Mexico. And yes, my 4707 Massey is built in that new high tech Agco plant in China. Tractor is very well designed and built. And yes I have had some issues with the dealer, not the tractor, things should have been caught before it got to me. But any tractor is like that.

My last Massey was a 2615 built in India and it was flawless.

Then, why do I keep reading about buyers having quality control problems with them?

I like/own AGCO products, but there's no excuse for having quality control problems, unless it's because of the people who build them, and that's happening in china.

I have watched you run your mouth for 3 years on here . Is there anything you are not an expert on?

To me, when a tractor is sent to a dealer with problems, it's a QT problem at the FACTORY...

Then, if the dealer doesn't correct those problems in a timely manner, THAT is a DEALER problem.

The tractor should not have left the factory with problems in the first place, that's what final inspection is for.

You know how it goes, some folks just don't like the truth, perhaps you are one of them?

Well, our 6200 JD Manual transmission would not shift gears. My Dad toured the factory at Manheim and mentioned it to them. They sent someone to go get such a finished tractor off the lot, and low and behold it would not shift gears either. They had new gears cut and sent over, it helped but never really corrected the issue. So, clearly they were building tractors, that did not work, and clearly, no one cared. Eventually I just put in a used automatic transmission for 15 grand or so. So, it's not just a Chinese/ Indian or whatever problem.

No Rob, you offend a bunch of folks here with your bluntness. Calm it down and you won't get this reaction. Your comments are often negative and critical. A balance is good... No offense meant but I do like the truth.

I've been around equipment all of my life, and I own a bunch of it now. I tell it like it is and post what MY experiences have shown me.

I have no plans to sugar coat it, so the thin skins don't have to run to their safe spots, I mean it's just EQUIPMENT, no one is talking about your mother... lol IF it makes anyone feel better to say negative things about MY tractor, have at it, I don't care....IT'S A TRACTOR!

You (the posters here) may have a different opinion because they own "that" brand, and that's just fine with me, but that doesn't make it MY experience, when I own the same piece of equipment and I relate about it as I post here.

NO body learns anything from a sugar coated post, all it does is make the owner of that brand "feel good" because he has one in the garage that get's used very little. My equipment has to be depended on and it gets used for farm duty, and if it's not so good, I don't feel the need to BS around the truth to make myself feel better.

I'd rather if some one is THAT thin skinned, just skip over my post and don't read them... That's what "I" do with the couple guys here that "I" feel are know-it-all's lol Either that or I just don't answer them...

OK, back on track here... SO, your tractor was sent to your dealer with problems and YOU don't feel it was a QC issue at the factory?? You blame the dealer for that??
