Snow plow wheels vs skids

/ Snow plow wheels vs skids #21
I have a Behlen Country ( Behlen Country | Farm and Ranch Equipment ) adjustable scraper blade for my 1023E to which I'd like to attach a pair of skids to regulate depth of cut when I'm dressing up my long gravel road. Does anybody know of a source for and how they might attach to this scraper? I also use it for moving snow when my Mickey-Mouse front-mounted snow blower craps out.

Here are my plow castors. The have, 8" foam filled tires:

Don't slit the steel pipe. It's totally unnecessary. Just weld some tabs on it, and bolt it on with the existing edge bolts.

looks like shoes/skids in the most common so will see if I can scrounge some materials since the cheapest thing on a Kubota is the operator.

That was awesome. And I'm in total agreement. Zero useful input, but had to say thanks for that.

its a blower not a blade but here is how pronovost did it

P-INV-74 - Pronovost

interestingly, there are no skids on this blower- only a cutting edge
works fine on gravel- if its frozen

with wheels i would think an important need would be for them narrow enough/ hard enough to cut through the snow to the surface and a low enough blade/ blower that residual snow cannot pack under the wheels and cause a gradual rising of the device

there can be a problem with wheels, I have a craftsman lawn tractor with a front snow blade, I had to put chains on the front wheels because they wouldn't turn in snow /ice, they would build up snow in front of them, and prevent the tractor from moving, chains fixed that.. with small wheels like you'd use on a blade or blower, that's not possible, and once the snow is at or above the center-line of the wheels, it's impossible for them to turn anyway!..

The trick there is to mount a snow plow in front of those wheels so they never run into deep snow...
