When I defend myself against somebody is intentionally shooting at an animal next to my house, which party is using a deadly weapon?

That's why we have courts/juries.

I can't tell what the gun is, which somebody is pointing while hiding in that blind.
If he's shooting something which goes through my wall, that court/jury might be posthumous.
I also am not sure who the "tough guy" is which some are referring to... the guy who thinks it's fun to shoot at a dog tied out on a rope in his own back yard while the "marksman" is hiding in a blind; or those of us who don't really care to find out what the gun is that he is pointing at us.

little problem with your logic you can't see into the dark, that's why it is called a blind and good one only has small hole and muzzle is kept well back so the muzzle blast is lost and pellet is traveling below the speed of sound, otherwise a dog with better ears and eyes than us would have known where it came from.

If someone aims a gun "I don't care what kind of gun it is" at someone else's property they should be in jail. Lots of people aim fake, pellet and bb guns at people and they get killed because of it. Cops shoot people all the time that have what "even looks like a gun" aimed in there direction..

We went from the OP telling us about a "one time occurrence of two dogs running through and setting off his alarm" to someone shooting a pellet gun at there neighbors dog from a blind, then we go to someone that shoots there neighbors dog if they are loose on his property and if the neighbor shoots his he is okay with it because they were loose and the same guy is calling others "tough guys' then we go to someone that can't stand to listen to a dog bark for less than a minute, I mean this is ridiculous..

In 1983 I was driving through Old Town Maine on my way back from hunting when kids in the Jeep in front of me waved a pistol around and pointed it at me. My first instinct was to reach down on the seat, pick up my revolver, point it in the air and cock it. In hindsight I should have pulled into the nearby PD and reported it.
1992 I was moonlighting at a gas station/convenience store when the owner's son walked in, pointed a double action revolver at me, said "Hey Rick", and pulled the trigger twice. I was not amused, and quit the next day. Whether it's a BB gun, shotgun, or howitzer, a weapon should be used responsibly. If somebody doesn't see a problem with a person bragging that he hides in the bushes shooting at somebody's dog which is tied up on it's owner's property, then we will always disagree. I don't care what the braggart is using. He is a threat to all of the responsible gun owners.

My opinion ... Admin should forward the posts with comments about ADW or FA to authorities local to the posters with copies of the posts and the IP addresses they were made from.

As long as admin also forwards Royking's admission that he shot his neighbor's dog multiple times, on multiple different days with a pellet rifle, while it was contained on it's owners property, to the proper authorities in HIS area.

Yeah, I'm fine with that.

There’s not much that’s more annoying than a continuous barking dog. Maybe you internet tough should discipline your own dog and there wouldn’t be any problems.

My closest neighbors are about 2000' from our house and we typically hear their dogs barking through the night. Sometimes it makes getting to sleep difficult but we don't complain about it since they have a lot of farm animals and it's the dogs job to bark when something unwanted gets too close. Good thing we have double pane windows but in the summer we can't leave the windows on that side of the house open at night. Those are good neighbors and have even asked if the barking bothers us.

There are good dog owners and bad ones. People are all different and this thread has certainly proven that.

Why not inform the neighbors that the dogs barking is annoying ?

People that allow their dog to continually bark need some help understanding that some do not approve of such bad manners.
