Neighbors Dogs Running Loose

Why? the neighbors dog was barking because there was someone there that isn't normally there. That's what they do and the reason why people have dogs..

It wasn’t even barking in our direction. It was just a yappy dog.

I have a guy that brings me kindling from his mill once a year, nicest guy you ever want to meet. My Shepherd was barking from his enclosed back yard when he was backing his truck in, he got out of the truck and said to me, I can't stand to hear a dog bark for ten seconds, can you put him inside, I said sure.

I him put inside and the guy said to me, I don't know what it is but I can't stand to hear a dog barking.

A dog barking when someone first approaches is one thing. Once that person is there and talking to the property/dog owner, the dog should hush.


People also don't always understand how far that sound travels in the country on a quiet day. I can clearly hear dogs over a mile away. I know the people and I know the dogs to the point I can pick out their individual barks/voices.

I agree, the owner should hush the dog. The traveling sound of a dog barking during the day for a short while doesn't bother me at all. A dog barking all day or all night for the heck of it is a different story but I wouldn't due away with a dog that did like some of the people in this thread have done or would do..

You try to harm one of my dogs, for any reason real or imagined...

And I fear for your immediate safety, and your long term health. I'm not going to the Sheriff, I'm coming to see you. And **** is coming with me. Like Paul said, I too am not trying to sound like some "internet tough guy". Not my intent at all. But I'm trying to get some wisdom pointed into your head. Not all folks will treat what you've done, and what you brag about on a public forum in the same manner. I'm referencing specifically you admitting that you've shot your neighbor's dogs for barking. I recommend you delete that post. I also recommend you don't try that again. Not all neighbors will be "princess-like" in their response. And I won't be bringing a pellet gun.

Far better to just talk to me like a civilized human first, about your "reasons".

My dogs are NEVER loose. EVER. And the only time they're ever out in their fully fenced back yard is when we are home, and they are either out there playing with us, or just out to do their business. The rest of the time, and ANY time we are not home, they are in the house.

I, and especially my wife wish every dog owner had your attitude towards their dogs. If that were the case there would be little problems concerning dogs So I say Thanks....

My opinion ... Admin should forward the posts with comments about ADW or FA to authorities local to the posters with copies of the posts and the IP addresses they were made from.

Years ago people use to shoot dogs and cats all the time without blinking an eye. I think people get frustrated with owners and the local animal control not doing anything about domestic animals out of control.
