Farm UTV's.....Mule or Ranger...or other?

Anybody have or know anything about "ODES" UTV's? They make there own engines? I see some in there repo store in TX dirt cheap..

So a quick update to the 4010 Trans Mule......I love it!

Like everyone has said its not a speedster (it tops out around 25 mph) which is fine on the farm. It didn't even blink coming up the steepest part of the property...and that was in 2wd. This thing is going to be perfect for what I need.

Also, my old 6 1/2x10 foot trailer pulls it perfectly when backed on. I'm glad I went the Mule route, I'm sure the Ranger would have been great as well but this 3 year warranty will certainly be nice.

I guess I take it for granted how fast the hydraulic dump is on the Kubota RTVs -- I don't think I could tolerate anything that dumped slow like the UTVs with electric+hydraulic. That's painful to watch.

Here's a load of heavy wet white oak I cut today. Was so wet my gloves got soaked from handling the cut ends and I had to pre-split the big pieces before I could pick them up.

i have about 400 hours on my 2012 mule 4010. besides yearly maintenance all ive spent money on is the hydraulic bed lift kit and i just replaced the muffler last week. These mufflers have a bottom drain on them..and i did not know your supposed to drain them. oops. Muffler rusted out. The air intake is high up on roll bar...actually built into the roll bar. I guess if you drive this unit thru streams your supposed to drain muffler. i bought the unit used a few years back and while i never drove thru streams i guess the old owner may have.

$160.00. Not inexpensive but complicated design. Easy install though.

I'd rather say the muffler condensed moisture inside itself from short runs. If you don't drive in deep water you might consider leaving the drain open, or drill a drain hole near it.

We haven't had to do much maintenance other then routine on the mules at the farm,
but when it's time to replace the starter, get ready to be amazed, perturbed and angry at the installation.
It shouldn't take multiple people and several hours to change a small starter.:thumbdown:

The Mule Pro DX is at 22 hours and 50 miles so far. It's done everything I've asked of it and I'm pretty happy. I love the giant bed with the electric/hydraulic dump feature. All in all, I'm really pleased.

I'm ready for the first major service, likely here in the next week.

I put a mild lift kit on the Mule and some more agressive Essex Manufacturing Kevlar tires on it. I should have saved my money and possible future issues with the drive train. It is only so marginally better in snow, it wasn't worth it. Six inches of melting spring snow and this thing is done! 4WD and Rr Def lock. You look at the conditions and can't believe this thing isn't going anywhere! Just sayin!
