Moron Parks in Front of Fire Hydrant

Of course he has a right!

Jeez louise, all I said was of course you don't carry because you want to shoot someone, you do because you might have to.

I think we're all in agreement here.

Although it's more likely you or family member will be shot with it, I probably shouldn't of called the much lower probability of a justifiable shoot as a "fantasy" (although it is). It suggests impossibility when I really meant improbability.

I think Farmboy is right. I probably was looking for an argument (hey, isn't that what the internet is for?). I should just go and kick my dog instead.
.....joking.

Yea, the internet.....
I think most if not all of us react a little to strongly to statements made.

I am trying to get better, but I am still a mere human and have my failings, ask my daughter and grandkids!

Same as cars, guns and most other things, the internet is what you choose to make it. Cars to some is a way of getting from point A to B,to some it's a status symbol or circus ride. Some use the internet to find information on repairing their tractor while others use it as a pulpit for their senseless loudmouth ramblings. Some deserve pigeon on their cars while others deserve outriggers on theirs.

It's funny where some of these threads go, but even the most off-hand and off-topic comments have a lot of truth to them. I was thinking about a few past incidents of ambushes of Public Safety people and got to thinking what if? What if the vehicles owners in some of these cases were just far enough out there to open fire on the FEOs near the rigs? Even if they didn't fire on them, some PS people have been assaulted on scenes over seemingly minor things where they were justified, but that angered the public enough to react.

I'm unsure how to take your post?
Are you saying first responders should not do what is necessary to complete their mission for fear of retribution??

Cataclysm
Outrigger is wrong on two points
Destruction of a legally parked car, why not push it out of the way
Second a car is not a stable base for the outrigger, truck is in danger of tipping without proper base
if it was legally parked rather than in front of a fire hydrant, this thread would never have occurred.

There seems to be some sense that the fire crew should just go back to the fire station rather than hurt the feelings of the self-entitled moron who parked in front of the hydrant. And forget about the fire.

There are enough news stories on the internet, going back years, to suggest breaking windows for the fire hose is a recognized option for gaining access to the hydrant. It is not rogue rambos out to crunch vehicles for the joy of it.
