Moron Parks in Front of Fire Hydrant

There are some rights on both sides. A lot of the firemen and Police are thrill seekers and can be egotistical and aggressive, but that's not all of them for sure. As usual, the few give the majority a bad name. If that truck picture was not photoshopped, someone should be reprimanded. Just because we CAN do something does not mean we should.

On the other side, Jstpssng is absolutely right. We live in a world with other people and a set of rules for the "greater good." If you park in front of a hydrant you should expect a ticket at a minimum. I think consequences are great because experience has a huge educational impact toward enlightening stupid people. And, sometimes it's not stupid it's just unfortunate.

I have not ever been a first responder, nor do I ever expect to be one, but I have the upmost respect for those who run in when the bullets and fires cause most of us to run out.
Sure, not all are in it for the humanitarian reasons, but in my experience the majority is.

I find it extremely offensive for people who generalize to put them all in the same waste drum

Both my brothers are retired career firemen; my Dad retired from the City Street Department, and my Daughter works for the Police Department; and oh, yeah. I am retired from the state D.E.Q. Public service runs in the family; but it's been my observation that public servants are pretty much a cross section of America. You have the good, the bad and the ugly, but pay for firemen and policemen is getting pretty good, so they tend to attract better qualified people than a few years ago. They have my respect, and I think rightfully so.

Three firefighter went out on a hunting trip. There was a rookie, a captain, and a chief. The weather was miserable and they hadn’t seen any deer all day. Finally they came across an old shack where they went inside to play a game of poker.
After loosing a couple of hands, the probie threw down his cards and said “That does it! I am going out to get me a deer.”
Fifteen minutes later, the rookie came back with a nice four point buck. The captain and the chief asked, “How did you get that?”
The rookie replied, “I walked out fifty feet, followed some tracks and shot this buck.” The captain then said, “I’ve had enough of this I am going to get my deer.” He came back a half hour later with a 6 point buck.
The chief asked, “How did you get that?” The captain then replied, I walked out a hundred feet, followed some tracks and shot this buck.
The chief not wanting to be out done said, “I’m out of here, I’m going to bag the biggest buck of the day.” He came back an hour later, all mangled up and bloody. The rookie and the captain asked, “What happened to you?”
The chief replied, "I walked out there five hundred feet, followed some tracks, and got hit by a TRAIN!

In the picture, there are other outlets. They are smaller and don't flow as much water. For a structure fire you need the large outlet, and large hose to supply enough water to fight fire.

^^ Most have at least two.

Maybe some form of cost cutting move by the local bean counters?

Looks like the firefighters handled the situation just fine assuming it's not staged.

Same for the outrigger on the car.

Cataclysm
Outrigger is wrong on two points
Destruction of a legally parked car, why not push it out of the way
Second a car is not a stable base for the outrigger, truck is in danger of tipping without proper base

Those firemen probably had to see a doctor after 4 hours.
I see this picture (or other identical ones) all the time on social media and internet.
Like the O.P. who posted this and lot of people commenting on here, it seems a lot of people really get off on: "Smash that moron's window!! Yeah Baby!"

They're like all the concealed carry Rambos who spend so much time (in these forums, elsewhere) fantasizing about justifiably shooting someone. This picture gives them hope: "Maybe someday I'll be able to smash some moron too!"
