Adding two spool valve to Kubota L3200

Hello all,

I have done a lot of research, and I think am on the right track, but I want to ask the experts here before I order the wrong thing.

I currently have hydraulics for the three point lift, front end loader, and also the hydrostatic transmission.

I want to add an additional two spool valve. One to run a grapple, the other to run one set of rear remotes. The biggest need for the rear remotes is for running a post driver which needs continuous flow to be controlled with its own valve. So a valve with detent would be ideal, but could be done with a bungee cord if necessary.

What I think I need to buy is a two spool valve that is capable of power beyond and open center. And then of course new hoses.

I will need to set up the valve to have power beyond in and power beyond out in series with the other power beyond hoses. And then a tank return (which I can 鍍ee in with any tank return line).

Does this all sound correct?

If anyone would be willing to post a link to an appropriate two spool valve I would greatly appreciate it. There are roughly 800 million out there and I am having trouble selecting the correct one.

Sounds like a plan. Insert the valves into the PB loop between the loader and 3-pt hitch. You'll find there is a hose that runs from the loader valves to the 3-pt hitch that connects at the hydraulic block under the foot platform -- that's where you can insert your valves.

Kubota makes a nice factory kit for the L3200 with stackable valves and it mounts to the right side of the seat next to the 3-pt hitch lever, but it costs more than generic valves of course. You can stack 1, 2, or 3 valves there, of several different varieties.

I don’t think you need PB and a return line if it’s just coming off the loader valve and nothing further down the line.

Whenever I have needed hydraulic support beyond my knowledge, I have found Cross Manufacturing a great way to go.
You get to talk to real "tech" people.

There are may options for valves and if you pick one of the shelf, after a little while you may find yourself cursing it for the rest of the tractor (or your) life.

I thought about the kubota version but would like to do it cheaper.

So what I need is a directional control valve? What does the SV and all the other versions mean?

I understand that stacking would allow the system to be expanded. But what do you mean allow each one to be exactly what you want?

One valve with detent to hold open, one that has return to center etc. Plus you can change locations like detent valve on left or right.

The 3-pt hitch has to be last in line on the L3200, so it will have to be downstream of any rear remote valves that get added. Normal order on this tractor is Pump > Loader > Remotes > Backhoe > 3-pt.

Any remote valves will need to pass through PB to next in line and have their own return.

The Kubota valves stack onto to the side of the transmission case and use a return port built into the case for that exact purpose. If someone were to machine a block with o-ring groove, they could also use this return port for a custom third-party setup.

The new valve he adds does not have PB- all output goes out one port not two. My limited understanding is that you can have more than one additional valve that do not have PB and T separate. That's how my Branson's two remote valve bodies were set up from the dealer.

So let me see if I am following this right...

-Disconnect the power beyond at the block under the drivers right foot. (This is the one at the upper left correct?)
-Connect the disconnected hose into the new valves power beyond in.
-Run the Power beyond out from the new valve back to the one that was disconnected under the drivers right foot.
- Tee the tank return line from the new valve into any convenient tank return line
- Run new supply lines as needed to grapple or rear remotes

Does this sound right?

Actually yes and here is the detent for it you can add to one of the spools.

Also, the total flow for my tractor is 10.5 gpm. 4 is dedicated to steering, and the other 6.5 is for other things.

8gpm valves is what I want correct?

I just went out and compared my tractor to your picture. I do not have a hose in the background as your picture does. I have the three attached to the front of the block. The other connections are all hard piped.

Can you help clarify?
