1120 throttle friction disk issues

My 1120’s throttle won’t hold its setting/position so I believe the friction disks are worn.

I don’t see any procedures for adjustment in the manual and new friction disks are $68. A PIECE!

Anyone have any other fixes or ideas I should/could try?

The hand throttle friction washers(key 6) that I see in 1120 PC are L41465 Washer ADD 3.73 USD 7.46 USD

The throttle linkage is challenging to disassemble but you're correct on needing to change friction washers.

You think tightening down nut #3 against spring #7 wouldn't increase the friction enough to improve holding?

Looks like an adjustment possibility there..

Edit: see now that they are not nuts.. but called "grommets" in the parts list..so no adjustment possible.

Those “nuts” are bushings

And I was mistaken, the cheaper pieces are the friction disks according to the manual(which I reread after misreading)

Only way to tighten is to install new friction washers or adding shim washer to increase spring pressure on worn friction washers.

You weren’t kidding on it being annoying to disassemble.

I had to buy some new punches(lost mine in the move) but that was the biggest snag.


Next up on this beast is changing all the fluids/filters and new tie rods.

After that? Fixing the wiring/gauges/lights
