Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #91,231
Years ago (about thirty some...) we had purchased on old "baking hoosier" with the intent of restoring it. We have moved 4 times since purchasing it, but never really did anything to it. It has a stamp and signature on it from 1931. The porcelain top is original and is usually the missing component. Wifey has been working on it the last couple of weeks, and we finally finished it today. She will now actually use it for its intended purpose. The black inlays on the upper doors are chalkboards. She's pleased....so I am also.

Oh, the glass sugar bowel on the shelf was her great grandmother's bowel, about 80 - 90 years old as far as we know.

Good evening all. 49F for the start, clear, light wind. Sky stayed clear, wind became moderate, and high temp was 71F. Choir practice to start the day, some delay as lawn was still too wet to mow when I got home, Did manage to finish most of the lawn, nap and bike ride. Considered boat ride but favorite launch ramp was closed. Maybe tomorrow. Dog decided he did not need a walk, was not happy with no treats
Drew nice looking stabilizers, hope you get your pickers
Bird, sorry about your trip for the disposal tool, happens far too often, hope you had a nice afternoon.
Last house had a laundry room sink for cleaning muddy stuff. Not here, guess I cant get muddy :D
Ted nice job on the cabinet. Love the "cooking" story.
Prayers for all.

Jay, glad to read good PT report. Slow and steady, make progress.

Two days into this cabinet project and I feel like I’m 2 days behind!!!
Either I’d don’t get as much accomplished anymore or my time expectations are off - maybe both. Wife is quite happy with the progress and that’s what really counts.she helped run the trim pieces thru the planer this morning. Kekoa thought the chips spewing out were great fun.

Here’s a progress pic. Can see the shelf mods in lower unit, trimmed units upper. Still need filling, sanding, staining etc.

1 above and going to a high of 36 °F. Wind WNW 9 mph. Sunny!

That will help to melt the snow.

A dump and town run is in the cards for today.

As long as the parts are clean, what does it matter if they are 'cooked' in the oven....That is what they we made for, isn't it?

Have a good day all

Good morning all. Not quite as bright as yesterday as we have a light cover of cloud this morning. If I could choose I would have it like this most days - sunshine looks appealing when inside, but once outside the constant squinting makes me feel tired and want to take a nap long before I've finished anything.

LS, what a neat worktop/storage unit that is. I had not heard of a "baking hoosier" before (always something to learn here ) and have spent an enjoyable breakfast finding out more. It seems there is a farming connection too, as the Hoosier Manufacturing Company started off in 1898 by making a seed separator for farms.

David, those tiny handles certainly make that a distinctive piece of furniture !

Prayers for all

rain is stopping, looks like about an inch and a half, once again more than double what was forecast.
Tree peepers serenading outside, I guess happy the rain has stopped.
Yesterday hit 80 here, had to run fan in greenhouse to keep temps down.
Much cooler today, high of 56 and getting down to 34 tomorrow morning, then it looks like a warming trend.

Discovered that marigolds were pretty hardy in cold but zinnias, well looks like I'm going to replant a bunch.
I'll remember that next year and hold back on the zinnias until April.

Some fine cabinetry work going on here.
