Years ago (about thirty some...) we had purchased on old "baking hoosier" with the intent of restoring it. We have moved 4 times since purchasing it, but never really did anything to it. It has a stamp and signature on it from 1931. The porcelain top is original and is usually the missing component. Wifey has been working on it the last couple of weeks, and we finally finished it today. She will now actually use it for its intended purpose. The black inlays on the upper doors are chalkboards. She's pleased....so I am also.
Oh, the glass sugar bowel on the shelf was her great grandmother's bowel, about 80 - 90 years old as far as we know.
