from the seller, "•This Toothbar Is Intended To Be Used For Dirt, Soft & Loamy To Dry, Hard Conditions, Even With "Some" Rock & Gravel Content. It Is Not Intended To Be Used In Frozen Ground Conditions, Or In Packed, HI-Content Rocky Or Graveled Conditions!". so I think he'll need something more heavy duty..

Meh, they just need that disclaimer on there to avoid ongoing warranty issues from people who would try to break rocks with it. I have an iowa farms bar on my tractor, and its a tough SOB; stronger than the bucket is, so.... Seriously, if you put one on, you'll be amazed you got this far already without one.

Yes. Most of it is soft shale. I do use my box blade with the shanks adjusted properly to dig where I need it. It did great on a ditch I carved with lots of shale in it. I am sure the suggested toothbar would work wonders... really have been eyeing Bxpanded Piranha bar for another project of clearing brush. I am not sure how well it would work on this though.

So you don't own the east side? It looks to be less steep, with maybe some logging roads.

It drops off pretty good on the east side. I own mid way down on that side. Someone else owns the base to the east. They have horse trails.

Can someone just set up a go fund me for a piranha bar already? Just seeing that on the side of that hill..at least it’s easier to jump off if no cab :)

How wide is that bucket? I haven’t read the whole thread...just saw pics and a little here at the end was enough. I’ve got a 42”? (I’m sure too small) tooth bar laying around you’d need. Maybe you could trade it for one to fit your bucket but I’m in nc!

I only need to go 40' along that edge before I get to where I'm standing. Then the slope will only drop down 4'. I'll get a better pic of where I'm going to post. 20190323_184444.jpeg

Looking at the straight on view pic without the red line...I'll be aiming to the left of the pine with the dark truck

Thanks, hard to tell on google maps.

Interesting project, looks like something I'd try.
