I would say you have pretty much reached crap shoot territory.

Yanmar has a stellar engine history, but Shibaura does also.
I have 30 year old Shibaura that runs like a finely tuned Swiss watch.
I would certainly not consider ANY Shibaura engine a "con".

MY NH has a shibaura motor. any reason NH wasn't a choice?

The case is an ls tractor just like the new hollands that size their website says engine built by ls mintron....i would look at a comparable ls. or even the new holland brother of the case is going to be cheaper than the red version......and if yanmar is what you are leaning too, look at the rural king 37. it has their engine in it and it is built by tym....also the yanmar tractors have a lot of extra electronics that make them nice rides but what if they fail???? thats more to worry about....same with a lot of tractors though...just be aware of what you are buying.... and be aware that none of them are perfect.....something to consider. If the Massey has the Shibura engine in it...I would move it to the top of the list right next to the yanmar and maybe a smidge in front due to unprecedented reliability. But again the Maseey folks are kinda proud of their tractors when the pocket book comes out too....something about red...lol

I do like the Massey, i'll be testing that one Saturday. Regarding the RK37, i actually called and asked about it. They don't sell them on the west coast yet. Nor deliver it because there's no place to warranty it out here.

i suppose i'm just a fan of red lol. And i don't know of any local NW dealer. I suppose regardless of where i go, i'm gonna have emissions crap to deal with.

I actualy bid on a 40HP NH last week. Had 1300 hrs and ended up selling for $10,000 at the auction. In hind sight that would have been a good deal to keep bidding on. I stopped at $9k.

yeah I think so
i would seriously think about looking at a pre emissions tractor with super low hours. not sayin go with it for sure but i would at least consider it. emissions is the main issue i read about people having with new tractors and other new computer related issues

Hey Partner,

I looked at Kubota L series, Deere, TYM, and for what i want they didn't make the cut for one reason or another. So i'm down to the last 3 models i mentioned above.

I would like to add that i originally wanted a Kubota L2501 or L3901. But compared to other makes, they're just so cut and dry. Massive transmission hump on the deck and many other stationary features that are missing, especially for the price. If they made a premium version of the L series like the B2650, i'd be all over that!

So a Kubota Grand L 3560 is what??? It sure is not a std L model like what you looked at, and it is more deluxe than any B series.

Makes zero difference to me, just sayin that there is a Kubota that fits your requirements. Might want to take another look. :confused3:

Good luck with your final decision. ;)

I致e been doing a good amount of looking for used tractor. The problem is the market sucks for it. For $14k, you get a 20 year old tractor with 1,500 hours lol. For $8k more I get a brand spankin new one lol. At least each tractor is under a 5 year engine warranty

Yes sir! I did check it out. It痴 too big. My mom has some trails that cross a creek with some tight turns. The compact size is really the biggest I can go as pathetic of an excuse that may be.
