Looking at Buying a New Tractor Have RK Questions

The RK website says differently if I understand it correctly.

"a team of mobile technicians that can go anywhere to perform almost any service." :confused3:

Maybe so,.... but somewhat difficult to believe.
Perhaps they "can go", but the real question is...how far will they go?

How far do does any dealer actually go, of any manufacturer? I have not heard of anyone going much further than a 2 hour drive.

This is all the more reason for me to wait til they get a store closer to me.........I have a new holland dealer that is 20 min from me and they do service the equipment in the field...been there, done that.

Per your quote, RK is stating... "anywhere"
No 2 hour time limit is mentioned or suggested.
No other dealer comparisons are mentioned either.
Just..."anywhere".
Do they say what they mean,
or, mean what they say?

A quick distinction that might help.

RK does do field REPAIR work, but not service work that I know of. I don't think they'll change the oil onsite for you.

I'm a few hours out from the nearest Rural King myself.

And I've had my tractor a month.

The service guy for this area was out the day after they delivered my tractor in their service vehicle fixing the cab electronics. The guy that came to me was the only mobile guy in Florida at this time. I don't picture him going around changing oil for all us. He has a nice 250 size service truck with plenty of tools. But as he stated, he simply can't do the heavy repair work.

I was lucky in that my issue was a loose connector.

If it was a serious issue he said he can bring a trailer or tow the owners trailer back to home base where the real tools were.

That's pretty well standard for field service units. Any really major work goes into the shop.

Yes....Heavy repair obviously must be done in house...and just to be clear i change my own oil if needed....but more often then not a new tractor will have a hiccup or two. I've came to expect that anymore...

How long did you wait for them to come 1 day, 2 days, with hay down that makes a difference......heck, any time down makes a difference in hay!

never mind that you said the next day after delivery.....

As far as towing back.. i have my own service truck with trailer and 10k winch if needed to pull it onto trailer with....

Fortholm, service must vary by store or things have changed over the last few months. You said they delivered your tractor. When I bought my 37HC last summer I had to pay to have mine delivered approximately 20 miles.

I was told by my local store they offer delivery but it's thru a 3rd party and pricing was up to the 3rd party to decide.
