The "TACO WAGON" has arrived

I might go that route Xfaxman. The local supplier is "pretty sure" a $260 Bedstep would fit on the Taco Wagon. I KNOW that a $25 step stool will work. I DO like the way that Bedstep fold up and out of the way. And it's always right there. As it now stands - I know that somewhere I still have a plastic step stool - but only God know where I've got it stored. I have to go in to the beeg city next week. I will do some serious checking with the supplier.

Strange isn't it. When I was in college I was 5' 10". Now I'm 5' 8" but my feet are big and look like Hobbit feet. But I'm bigger around - so that offsets it all.

Apparently they have gone up in price! I paid about $200 for mine a while back. Definitely worth it though!

As mentioned earlier in the thread, the BedStep works great and is always there when you need it:

I also am vertically challenged, now down to 5'6" and need something to step on to get into the bed. If you leave the tailgate up, you can grab the top of it, step on the BedStep, put the right foot in the center of the bumper, then left foot on top of the bumper and step over the tailgate:

I'll second the Bedstep I have it on my 1500 and find it very handy. Makes getting into the box not a bad process compared to haveing to boost myself up onto the tailgate in a sitting position then swing around and get my knees under and then standup. Much nicer to step from the step to the bumper and then into the box, or from the step onto the tailgate.

Ahhh - I went "feral" so very long ago.....folks can't remember when I was any different. I try to fit in but anymore it's an awful hard squeeze. I tell folks - when you come to visit - leave your city thoughts and city ways there at my outer gate. This is country and it's not about to change.

I guess you could go buy a Chevy bumper and put it on...

It designed so you can step up into the bed with the tailgate up or down...

I don't know about that... The bumper of my 2500 4x4 is 36" high at the top. Even placed in the middle like the Chevy's bumper a step there would be around 32" off the ground. The Bedstep is 19" off the ground. Way more useful to me.

Now you made me go out and measure mine! lol

23" to the top of the "mid step" that would be used with the tailgate open, not too bad...

No matter, it would be an American bumper on a Mexican truck, that speaks Italian! Surely there would be a fight!! lol lol

23" isn't too bad. That would be useful. You must not have a 4x4 3/4 ton! :) My 2500 is a tall truck, like oosik's Powerwagon.

I just had a feeling this would happen. Man, it's one cold morning here.

So from the ground to the instep in the center of the bumper - 26"

From the ground to the tail gate - 38"

For those who suggest stepping up on the bumper and OVER the tail gate. Your foot has never slipped on the snow/ice on your bumper - has it.

BTW - I just ordered an Amp Research Bed Step. $259.44 Now I got to find my tarp. Hate lying on soaking wet ground when working under something.

Hard to believe my Laramie Sport sits higher than your PW. But my truck's measurements are: 28.5" to the bumper center 'step' and 40" to the rear of the tailgate.
