The "TACO WAGON" has arrived

Never heard of anyone having so much difficulty getting in/out of a PRIUS before :)

Mine has a step that pulls out of the tailgate and then a handle that stands up even if just the step wasn't enough. I thought it was kind of stupid when I bought it in 2011 (still in my 30's then). Kind of appreciate it now :) Don't know if it would work for you since your truck sits higher than mine, but I've seen the ones that go in your trailer receiver - just a small step that you use as a step to get up to the bumper, then go over tailgate. That gives you a way to at least gt up on the bumper easily.....still have to swing a leg up over tailgate.....

I wish my running boards were a bit longer toward the rear at times. When I need to reach something at the front of the bed but near the middle...can't just reach over & get it. A few inches higher like on the running board would work & keep from having to climb up into bed to get 1 loose item....

I thought it would be higher than that also. Then I got to looking at where it's parked. Kind of down in a hole in the carport. Whatever - it's more than I can handle and I'm glad for the running boards and will appreciate this step.

I got real tired, real quick, of "falling" out of my brand new vehicle OR gazing up and wondering how I would get there.

I know part of the height is due to the Goodyear Wranglers. They are 34" and normal inflation pressure - 65psi. At first, when I checked the pressure - I was a tad bit pissed. The though - some yahoo doesn't know what he's doing. Then I checked the sticker on the door. 65 psi is correct.

You don't need to run them that high though unless you're carrying heavy loads. A little less pressure will give it a smoother ride.

My 2500 recommends 65 front and 80 rear. I run about 50 all the time unless I'm hauling heavy. The ride is rough enough at these pressures, I'd hate to see how bad it is at max pressure empty.

Rob - that may be a way for me to go. However - is there a way that I can adjust my tire pressure monitoring system? I fear if I lower the pressure to 50psi without adjustment of the TPM system - - ALARM.

I can speak for my 2017 2500 and the answer is 'no'. But it isn't as bad as you might think. At startup the display shows a view of the truck with low tires highlighted. A simple click of the up arrow on the left side of the steering wheel goes back to the normal display. Then there is just a small red (!) that remains indicating the problem with pressure. Not obnoxious or hard to live with. I rapidly learned to do the click after starting and ignore the small icon.

They do it at the dealer on my Sierra.

It can be done, it is not a simple thing but it's not to bad;
Ram TPMS (tire pressure) change for 13$ with obdlink mx and obd alpha - YouTube

And this chart has the tire pressure to load capacity chart,
even at 35 PSI LT285/70R17-D has a capacity of 2105# each or 4200 per axle;
http://www.rambodybuilder.com/2006/docs/intro/tirecharts.pdf

I am running a 245/75R17 D tire at 54 PSI in the front and 50PSI in the rear empty, loaded or pulling a trailer I will bring the rears up, I usually dont bother changing the fronts.
