Even with dry wood they must weigh right around 2000 lbs though, more than my tractor will handle. I only burn a few cords per year anyways, and by using my bucket to bring it from the wood shed I'm able to lift it right up over the deck railing and load the wood box without leaving the house. One bucket will last 5 days in the coldest weather.

Here is a youtube video I've referenced before about wood totes & someone who actually did the work to figure it out. It's a good video, but for what your after you can skip to about the 12 minute mark. I have absolutely no affiliation with the maker of the video nor his blogs/videos/views.

That's one of the better video's that I've seen. I had calculated the volume of a tote some time ago but should have done so again before the post you quoted, as they don't hold quite what I remembered. It would be interesting if he did reweigh the tote next fall to see how much weight it lost. Also fun to see him fill that tote with green oak as he suggested; that little half ton would handle it, but might protest a bit.

If it isn’t, it should be. It’s actually bootlegged from the southeast. Yuenling isn’t sold in Wisconsin. Feels good to start replenishing the wood supply after a rather chilly and snowy winter.

It's probably coming. I'm seeing national ads now and we recently started seeing it in stores in Michigan.
