Me too.

As I know Terry there's no arrogance or uppity intent. He's just "talking shop" and sharing his blessings.

When I look at his pics I spend little time looking at the subject. I spend my time studying the background for ideas and tips. For example his storage of items. What I saw was the massive amount of steel storage shelves he has. That stuff ain't cheap. I expect Terry accumulated most of buying used over several years.

Hope this thread continues to grow with other's contributions.

ddbackhoe: Disneyland is my daughter’s favourite vacation spot. We’ve gone annually since she was five and she figures she’ll have her wedding there!

Having said that I can guarantee my shop tour would be WAY cheaper!

Just came across this thread, wow, nice story and shops.

I have a camper dolly I had built 20 years ago. It's very sturdy with 1250 lb steel wheels. I have been trying to get rid of it for years. After seeing your table I no longer want to get rid of it. After I get a barn/shop built the dolly will be a nice work table with a vice just like you have. :thumbsup:

Big Barn that is an awesome set up. We are just thinking about some machines. A good size South Bend lathe and a Bridgeport Do-All would be nice to have to remind me of the past and deal with bigger stuff. Before those show up I am thinking about adding a $500-$1000 small combo lathe/mill something on the order of a Smitty 1220 XL. Sadly I see some that were never used or used a few times and now are showing surface rust and I do not want the same thing to happen so I am buying with my son in mind. I know this size can be more of a tease but they should be handy for small quick and dirty needs.

When we redo the old house and go to 200 amp service like that is in the shop today. The plan is to take the 100 amp breaker box from the old house for the part of the shop that is not well wired and feed it out of the current 200 service for the shop tool work space that is more out of the way and sight. Nothing like you have created but something that is set up and can be walked to without moving stuff yet we can kill the power to the entire area for safety reasons at the 100 amp box mounted kind of high.

I traded an electric bike with the son of an old family friend for this Bridgeport clone.

It was surplus to their needs. A Kurt vise and tooling was promised at a later date. I enquired politely about the extras three or four times over the course of a year. There were always excuses: “we’ve been busy setting up our new CNC center, I’ll have to check with my shop foreman to see what’s available ...”.

I finally just gave up. I still got a really good deal, but it irked me at the time. Gotta know when to move on....
