Lots to consider. You will probably have to go down to a 2.5 inch bore or up to a 3. As already stated you can bush the pin if need be. 1" stop collars make pretty good spacers if you need to shim the sides. When I used generic cylinders on my loader I had to trim an 1/8" off each side of the head end tubes and used a stop collar on each side of the rod end. I might could have found a closer fit in a tang instead of the cross type I used but I was having new hoses made anyway.

In addition to bore and pin size you need to consider:
Retracted length
Extended length
port size
port location (side or top)

I bought my cylinders from Magister Hydraulics. US stock and fast, free, shipping. Magister Hydraulics

Many things to consider. I am thinking going down to a 2.5 for clearance. I know the retracted length and will go tomorrow to measure one at my dealer. Port location is key. Port size I think will be pretty standard but unsure. Bottom line is I will be calling the professionals who probably know the brand well and ask what I need and get signed up. I have the measurements if needed but will to bet they have them also.

So if I am a KMW 1220 which I would think it has a good chance of being it calls for a 2.25" tilt cylinder diameter. When I put my calipers on the outside it measures 2.8 inches. I guess I better read up on how they are measured. I pretty much only find them in a 2.5" which I would expect would be fine except some grinding to get into the mounts. My top mount is 2.75 inches wide and the bottom mount is 2.25 inches wide and I take a 1.4" shaft 19.25 inches eye to eye closed. If indeed this is a 2.25" cylinder by their measurements things start lining up a bit nicer. KMW shows it as part number 3150-2130. In 2014 the price was $536 each. My dealer wants 2100 for a pair. I want to be $500 or less in the pair. I still think it is best to just call the professionals tomorrow and they probably know this loader pretty well.

I remember reading it. I need a fit now setup. Mine tilts very well so no real need to stress it more. It was a good informative setup he did.

How did you come up with a bore size of 2.75 ?

Measured 2.8 with my calipers. I have now seen a tag on the loader. Made in Korea as I originally thought at really this is a TYM tractor. The loader is a 2655cl. Looking forever online I find it is a 2.6" bore. Try finding that. I am back to looking at 2.75 and grinding the mounts down to where I need them to get this tractor back to work asap. Like I have been thinking it is time for me to call a professional before I spend money and give myself a really tough job.

The reason I ask was it seems like a big cyl for a 55hp tractor to me. Thanks.

They are a 1.4 inch shaft. I have never had to replace before so have no idea if they are large or not. I know it can lift and tilt just about all I ask of it.
