Smooth and level gravel driveways...

I use a chain harrow on mine and it looks like new gravel when I get done

If you weld some oversize end plates onto the rails that should hold the gravel in front and under the rails instead of spilling over the ends

I had the same problem until I did that.

Just got a 7000# capacity top dresser at auction. That should spread some nice limestone evenly, rather than dump piles and then try and get the speed bumps out of it. Although, that's not what I got it for. NEW TOYS for spring, if it ever gets here.

Since we paved our driveway years ago, this doesn't see much use. Every now and then it does come in handy. The original design used the boom pole for lifting and it was a bit cumbersome. Angling was done by shortening the chain on one side or the other.

A few years ago i discovered an old pipe flange out behind the shop and did some mods so the boom pole wasn't required.

Love the ingenuity with the pipe flange. That great thinking out of the box.

if you can find a land plane/ gravel grader get one - its a must have for gravel driveways. Here is some millings I spread the other day- don't mind the rut - i had a chain dragging and didn't realize it - it was totally smooth when done just didn't get a pic
