L6060HSTCC

Next week I will bring the L6060HSTCC home for a demo. That should tell me if it has significantly more power than the MF1749 and a few hours of seat time should identify any features I don't like or any I want to add. The demo has a radio, air ride seat and LED lights. None of which I really want. Still a little unsure about the air ride seat though. Don't really think there is a big improvement over the stock seat. The only extra I will likely go with is the third function.

Anybody that has the air ride seat think it's worth the extra money ($1,000CAD) or not. I actually like the seat in the Massey more than the 2 Kubota seats.

I like mine. I sprung for it as I have a bad back. I figure an expensive seat is cheaper than more physical therapy or Dr. bills if it helps.

The 3rd function is pretty cut & dry. Either you have or will get impliments that need it or not. I run a SSQA plow & PHD on mine. Flow is a bit low for the hydraulic PHD, but downpressure, reverse & not blowing out my back hooking up a 3pt PHD is worth the lesser power. The 3rd function lines are really exposed & need protection. Either pick up one from 4shorts Specialty Repairs Custom Mods - 3rd Function Guard Bota 6:cool:, make your own or expect a good chance of needing to repair hoses.

Kubota Grand rear remotes suck. Make sure they do a leakdown test with something heavy pushing on a cylinder before you take delivery if you get one. Been through a few valves to get decent ones & still have 1 to go.

Thanks for the heads up about the rear remotes. I've seen quite a few posts about those being faulty. I asked the salesman and one of the Kubota mechanics about those valves and they both said they are not aware of any problems. Hope they are not feeding me a line. I prefer honesty.

When I go to pick up the demo tractor I will check out the 2 seats a little more to see if the air is something I might benefit from.

The third function is something I will get. I have a front plow, front mount snow blower and a grapple that all need a third function. I built my own for my previous tractor and it worked well. But I think I will have it done at the factory this time. I've seen the guard 4shorts makes for the hoses and it looks first class. I will likely make my own. I've made my own grapple, rear hydraulic power pack and converted my rear mount snow blower to front mount. So making a guard will be simple and I enjoy making things.

I have an L6060HST Cab, I came from a MF 1749 cab. There is no lack of power with the Kubota, night and day over the MF I had (I know it has 12 more hp but it feels like 30 more hp) the tool box isn’t much of and issue with me, the one that comes on the MF is very small and the lid doesn’t come up far enough to put anything big in there anyways.

The seat is more comfortable on the MF and in my opinion the only thing that beats the Kubota.

My L6060 impressed me more and more every time I get in it.

Lol. Its not your fault. It just showed me how everything remained the same while I was gone these last few years. Keep well my friend. I will try and stop back in a few more years to test the waters again

Skid Plates for M7060s please sir.

Do you have the stock seat or the air ride?

I've been on the L6060 Demo loaner for about 2 hours so far today and there are things that I really like and some I do not.

The demo one I have, has the air ride seat and I would say it is comparable to the Massey seat but I still prefer the Massey. I prefer the simple Massey instrument panel over the Kubota intellipanel. I don't like the Kubota Cat 2 3 PTH because all of my implements are Cat 1 and that means I have to use adapter sleeves that tend to fall out when switching implements. I know I will loose some of those. The 3PTH top link seems to be the wrong one. It is very short and I have to have it turned almost all the way out in order to use it on my implements. The top link also hits the PTO shaft safety cover if the lower mounting holes are used and the 3PTH is lowered.

Now the things I like. The power increase is very noticeable. I can run up my driveway in high range and high speed for most of it. The parts that are a little steeper I shift to High range - low. I can travel up the driveway about 50% to 60% faster than on the Massey. In all fairness though the Massey is only a 49HP vs the Kubota 62HP, so there should be a noticeable difference. I really like the split gears in each of the ranges. Makes it much easier to get the optimum gear. The LA1055 loader has much nicer hydraulics. I can curl and lift the bucket easily and with the Massey it is almost impossible to get both functions to work at the same time. However the Massey DL130 loader on my tractor has more lift capacity. The light duty bucket that came with this LA1055 loader is definitely LIGHT duty. After digging into a pile of wet sand and lifting it a few times I could see that the bottom of the bucket edge had a slight bow in it. If I decide to get an L6060 I will definitely NOT get the light duty bucket.

One last thing. I HATE the treadle pedal. It might just take some time to get used to it but I can drive up and down my rough driveway with the Massey and maintain a constant speed. With the Kubota every little bump seems to cause a speed change. I've tried different foot positions but so far I have not found the right position.

I have the standard seat in my Kubota.

The Kubota loader (and 3 point) hydraulics are definitely smoother than the Massey’s.

Lift capacity I would say is equal. However the Kubota is a bit lighter in the rear than the Massey so ballast accordingly.

The pedal. Well when I test drove the Kubota in the dealers lot (15 minutes tops) I liked it. Made the deal, took delivery of it and for some reason I didn’t like it as much. I think the test drive I wasn’t running it real hard?? But now I have been using it and have it down good and love it. I don’t put my whole foot on it and rock it like it’s designed to do. Too hard to go max speed like that. For forward I your my foot all the way to the right, and to go back I move my foot so my toes do the pushing on the back of the pedal. I don’t know if that makes sense but I don’t hafta think about it while running it.

The bucket in my opinion was waay too big for the Massey. Fill that thing up with dirt and the tires where about to explode. No way I’d want to turn the front tires with a heaping bucket full or travel farther than 50 yards in a straight line. The bucket I got with my Kubota doesn’t seem light duty to me and isn’t as big (I think it’s sized right) as the one I got with my Massey.

We've got a L4760 with LA1055 and HD bucket. I've probably moved 15-20 tons of dirt with it and can confirm that it holds up to the abuse.

As far as the treadle pedal I usually use the right side as a traditional pedal and then use the back as reverse. Rest your heel on the floorboard either way and works comfortably for me.

The bucket on this tractor has a tag on the back that states it's light duty.

I discovered the problem with this demo tractor being rough riding and making it hard to operated the throttle. The rear tires are not loaded and even with the bucket empty the back end is too light and bounces around. I put a homemade weight on the 3PTH that weighs about 900lbs and then the tractor rode much better.

I do the same thing with the treadle, ie use my toes to operate the forward and reverse functions. Rocking back and forth is just too uncomfortable. I think this will just take some getting used to.

Right now I'm leaning toward getting the L6060 but I need to think about it some more and talk to the dealer about a few issues and pricing before I make my final decision.

Yeah, the LA1055 + HD bucket is a good combo. When I was moving the dirt pile left over from excavating our house and got a bit aggressive, managed to lift the rear even with filled tires(~800lbs) and ~700lb flail mower on the back.

Can speak highly enough of the Grand L, between HST+ and the weight over the standard L they're great machines.
