Eric, if you were to wear safety glasses, they would protect your eyes. They aren't any good for eye correction, but they do protect your eyes from foreign objects.

3 of the 6 cats got their rabies shots yesterday. We couldn't find the other three. They have a really good hiding place, somewhere in the house. They wouldn't come out of their hiding spot for Temptations treats, which they all go crazy for.
There is a dump run scheduled for today as well as some puttering around.
My bed parts should arrive today.

41F misting upper low 50's for high on/off rain all day.

Did amount to much after work last evening after work today sharpen chainsaw etc. for some light tree clean up and pruning between rain storms tomorrow.
E muffin feed little critters slow roll to work.

64 heading to 87 or so today, guess I’ll mow between the few and the heat. I got the trimming done late yesterday after it cooled off some.

Ellen found out her special needs sister is going to have to move to long term care, her falling has increased dramatically and her 83 year old dad can’t handle any more, though he is in better shape than most 55 year old guys. They are going to get her in the facility with their mom.

My mom continues down that long road to the end, weaker and less responsive every day.

Enough bad news, my grandson was 4/4 with a home run and two doubles!

Coffee is done brewing. 50° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 67° with cloudy skies. May rain overnight. No rain after posting last yesterday. Dog is good for another year. Comcast is another story. I did get another box. But tech tried to tell me that problem is likely in my TV of Audio Video box. Interesting that all I had to do was remove power to Comcast box and plug it back in and all was working. I need to keep my blood pressure lower. House cleaner coming today and a haircut. Should be a good day to putter outside in afternoon.

We also have 2 Robot vacuum's. They save a lot of wear and tear on the Dyson and Shark. One is 5 years old and starting to show it's age. Will probably replace it when it dies. Because it is now my job to see that house stays clean. Except for kitchen. I am only allowed to make coffee and buy "kitchen toys" in there.

Rick, I need to look up the spray olive oil. I use the PAM type spray from Costco. Cannot find it on their site anymore. French fries in air fryer are best to me with a very light coating of Canola oil.

Buppies, prayers that they get it all this time.

Drew, strawberries in May. Ours will be ripe around mid June. My first summer job was picking them at local farm. We could eat what we wanted while picking. I was money hungry, I picked a lot. No gloves back then, my fingers were colored strawberry.

A rain day today, might head to the gym and warm indoor pool.
I've started growing some cucumbers in cups to plant after the potatoes come out in a few weeks.

72 degrees this morning, going for a high of 77. Yesterday evening, I guess starting around 6 p.m. we had the tornado warning sirens going, the TV regular broadcasts interrupted by continuous weather reporting, etc. Of course, as usual it turned out to be "severe" weather only in a few places. Supposedly even a tornado touched down briefly and took out some big trees in NE Denton. NWS shows Denton Airport only got .60" of rain, while my gauge got about 1.22"; just a moderately heavy rain, some wind, but nothing serious.

Now my yard (not good enough to call a "lawn" this year) has been a mess with more weeds and such than grass. So, just before the rain started, I applied a heavy dose of Scotts TB Weed & Feed, so it definitely got watered. I'm not sure how much good it'll do since you're supposed to apply it to wet grass on a windless day and I applied it to dry grass on a windy afternoon.

So I posted the above yesterday, had put down fertilizer and it got watered in very well, I thought. But this morning, about 2 a.m., I heard thunder. Then I got up and found about 2.5" of rain in the gauge at 5:15 a.m. 60 degrees going for a high of 76 today and more rain in the forecast right on through tomorrow.

Kind of cold this morning 19°. The snow showers stopped about noon yesterday and sun come out and melted most of it off. Today will be mostly sunny with a high in the mid 50's and windy this afternoon.

Didn't do much of any yesterday. I did get a nap I don't usually do that.

The only plans for today is a trip to town.

Picking strawberries was my first paying job. Only thing dad paid us kids for. We got 5 cent a qt to pick. We picked and delivered, no pick your own.

My oldest sons first job was also to pick berries on a local farm.

Got up at 3:30 this morning to get The Wife to the airport in St. Louis by 5:00. She's flying out to San Marcos TX to spend the weekend with her oldest son. Four day weekend for me here. Not hating that at all.

I'm experiencing substantial internet / computer issues right now....took almost a half hour to get this typed and posted... Very frustrating...

Good Morning. It was 66°F this morning and a little rain overnight, haven't got to rain gauges yet. Our forecast says 85°F this afternoon with 50% chance of more rain by late afternoon.

Jobs for today include some pressure washing of the swimming pool deck and the outdoor kitchen. Lots of green pollen, from our oak trees, on everything. This is our normal spring "ritual".

Then ...... probably more mowing before we get rain. I've got the 84" RFM ready to hookup to the 55 hp tractor soon for the open areas. We've trimmed up lower limbs on many of the trees, in our 9 acre "yard", high enough to clear the cab. Mowing with A/C ..... is nice, anytime of year. I have certain areas, covered with wild flowers (weeds with good PR) that my "supervisor" has declared to be no mow zones.

My younger brother, from Iowa, is coming down for a visit next week. He's the one that slipped on ice, in the dark, wearing improper footwear ..... breaking his fibula near his ankle.

Buppies ... good luck with your treatment. Been there ... done that.

RNG ... Have a great weekend trip with your van.

Ron .... nice turkey pics. The Toms around here are very skittish (camera shy?) but, the hens are comfortable around people, almost to a fault.

65°F and .27 inches rain

More backhoe digging today. These two areas will require some finesse as they have existing pipe work that needs to be respected. Will be some hand shoveling as well.

Dump run. Wife’s sister and husband arrive tonight. Will be good to see them, we always enjoy our time together.
