What folks fail to grasp is the development of GMO crops and the use of pesticides like Roundup and Liberty have allowed us to NOT use a host of more hazardous herbicides and especially insecticides. Find a corn grower in your area and ask him (or her) how much they miss handling Furidan or Lorsban.

We used to use our hands to mix arsenic of lead and corn meal in a large tub to dust tobacco with.

There was a plant near here that made a line of insecticide called "Sudden Death" in the 50s.

I once used Dursban to kill Carpenter Ants in our barn and ended up the next day in ER after I lost half my field of vision. Freaky!

We used tons of Furadan granular AND liquid on our cole crops. Wow this is like a trip down memory lane for me!

When I was little I remember my dad using a tobacco can with holes in the bottom and stick for a handle. It was the “applicator” for dusting Aldrin on celery plants.

During the 1970's I lived just down the James river from Hopewell VA,, EVERY time we did something on the farm to get dirty,,
we would drive down to the river with a bar of soap, and "clean up" before going to the house,,,
a lot of those times included an hour of swimming, to cool off,,

Kepone was in the river,,, we did not know about it,,,

"Kepone (or Chlordeone) was an insecticide produced by Allied Signal Company and LifeSciences Product Company in Hopewell. The improper handling and dumping of the substance into the nearby James River in the 1960s and 1970s drew national attention to its toxic effects on wildlife. As a result of the contamination the James River from Richmond to the Chesapeake Bay was closed to fishing for over a decade. The product was similar to DDT and is a degradation product of Mirex. In 2009, Kepone was included in the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, which banned its production and use worldwide."

Gee, I don't know who to sue.
Now I am COPD and somewhat hard of hearing (manageable) !

As a teen I worked in a tin can factory that had all sorts of airborne oil and lots of high DB's.
Later I was in an atmosphere that had VERY high DB's.
Then at one time I cut asbestos water pipe and breathed those dusts,
Later on I worked in aviation and a lot of MEK was used.
Then I spray painted with Zink chromate as a primer.
Must add that I have smoked for 60 years.
Must add that I also a few times was present when they spray fogged DDT up and down every street near me.

LOL, I am passed 80 and actually still going strong !
Perhaps I should use "Go fund me' to determine who and which I should go after.
