Rounded off drain plug

Put the Knipex on the plug adjusted for a good fit, squeeze, and slide a three foot long piece of thick wall small diameter tubing over the top handle to pull on.

If it can support a man standing on the top handle, it can take a torque multiplier pipe .

there's no way possible that the Knipex channel lock pliers could possibly outperform a pipe wrench!..

My thought EXACTLY!

The Knipex aren’t as beefy of a tool as a pipe wrench. When the cheater pipe comes out the winner is clear but using by hand the Knipex and the pipe wrench would be equal.

Have you used one? I take them any day over my pipe wrenches.

I don’t have any Knipex pliers but I’m quite certain they would work. Here’s some pics I just took of my 40 year old Channellock 410 pliers.

I stood on the tool with full body weight and it didn’t lose its grip. Couldn’t manage to balance myself to take the picture with phone at same time so you’ll have to take my word for it. Coordinated I’m NOT.

I'm sure the Knipex is a great tool, but the right size pipe wrench, adjusted correctly is incredibly strong, especially with a pipe over handle. A drain plug I'd use a small one, adjusted with a little slack. The harder you pull the tighter it grips.
I need to bring all pipe wrenches here from my home place as Grandad had 20-30 of them.
As a teen I helped a 400# 6'6" buddy remove his Buick differential plug with a pipe wrench, using me foot. I weighed 130# then. Your leg muscles are super strong. Friend and his 300# Dad had spent hours on it... I removed it in a few minutes.
They chased me all over the yard yelling obscenities...it was funny as he)).

At 400 pounds and 6’6” your buddy had bigger problems than a stuck diff plug.

I agree with you about the pipe wrench though.

I hope Kando gets the drain plug out soon. If not this thread is going to turn into a lot of pictures of people standing on knipex, channel locks, and other various tools just to show that the tool can support them. Sorry I couldn’t resist saying that, but that’s the first thing that popped in my head when I saw the 2 pictures of people standing on pliers.
