... day job keeping me far busier than normal.

I know how that goes all too well as my own day job can frequently swing between feast or famine when it comes to work levels. At times it's a chore to figure out how to make <8 hours of work last 40 hrs (have to be present "just in case" even if/when there's literally nothing to do), and other times it's a rush to get a weeks worth of work done in a day (or at least get as much done correctly as humanly possible in order to support a hard deadline).

So whatever you manage provide will be appreciated whenever it's provided.

Hi All.

Today, I got a chance to use my new EGO 21" Lawn mower.

WOW! I didn't expect that much torque/power out of it.

I cut grass/weeds (some was a foot high) that was pretty darn thick.

It went right thru it.

I didn't get a chance to finish, but am looking forward to trying it out some more.

That is not so much what would interest me, but for how long it would do that?

Here's what we cleared using a 12" 40v Kobalt. Wore brushes out on older Kobalt and bought another. New, brushless, ones are 24v. Recommend these for any newbys. All the trees/debris in that nearly 100 yard long pile are GONE.

That big tank was cut up with a 20v Porter Cable Tigersaw (a sawsall). Took 3 hours.

Why cut up? Leaking?

I lose track of previous threads. Mentioned something before about getting a Ryobi 1/4" Impact Drill/Driver. Hadn't really used it much, just a few quick things. Took down some old stuff today. Outdoor screws into boards and posts --- had been there about 15 years or so. Standard #2 Phillips head screws and a few Torx. Pulled them right out ... mostly. A few broke off. Only one stripped the head but it was badly rusted.. I'm sure I would have fought more using just a drill and probably stripped a bunch of heads out.

I bought a bunch of RIDGID battery tools a few years ago. Came with a free mail in jigsaw with proof of purchase. Sent in the receipt (copy) and warantee cards on everything.
After about 5 years had a issue with a couple batterys. Lifetime guarantee!
Ridgid would not honor the warantee. Their records showed I had never purchased anything. Of course I cant find my receipt either.
Got rid of ALL my RIDGID tools (a lot!)
Needless to say I will never buy anything RIDGID again.
Dewalt rep heard of my problem and replaced everything I had RIDGID with Dewalt at a really fair price. Havnt looked back since.
I tell everyone I see about my RIDGID story

Love DEWALT!!! Everything is dated on the tool and no receipt needed. All repairs are no questions asked what happened.

Thanks!
That is very useful info!

"Why cut up? Leaking?"

I have a very similar 1000 gal. fibreglass tank that I also plan to cut up.
Why??
How else would you dispose of a fibreglass/plastic tank no longer needed?

I am now pretty much 100% Dewalt at 20v for portable shop tools and Stihl 36v (I think) for garden tools. Other than mowers. Dad probably is turning over about now if he heard this. Yeah still love power. But portability and easy no fuss starts is cool and works for most small jobs.

Put it on Craigslist for $300 and it will be gone in short order...

Personally I suspect it's also a lot easier on the gas tools not to be used for really short/small jobs as well.

For example things like blowing grass/dust off of a tractor and mower after mowing which is something where getting a gas tool started and running smoothly may take almost as long as doing the task. ...which was what caused me to buy Makita's battery-powered leaf blower (which lead to buying other battery-powered outdoor tools).
