I致e watched some of this guys fix it videos and he痴 good. Take a look at this simple bearing hack. It really does make you wonder why manufacturers do the dumb things they do.........enjoy

Yeah...sealed bearings where a zerk is suppose to grease them. My old Cub Cadet has 1" blade shafts with tapered roller bearings and they will out last me.

The top bearing still doesn’t get any grease in it. If you pumped the cavity full of grease to actually push grease in the top bearing then you’re going to push the seals out. I think quality sealed bearings are the better way. Maybe an oil filled cavity with a splasher on the shaft to throw oil on the top bearing would be the best solution.

Hitting the bearing out with a steel punch directly to one side of the bearing is a sure way of putting a small bulge in the bearing limting its life bearings deform when hit with hard objects if you have to hit the bearing to get it out replace it with a new one

They just cut right off with a utility knife. As for tearing them up knocking them out I see this more as a when you replace them option. No dirts going to get in either as you are only cutting one side . That’s the side that goes in the spindle where it’s protected.

Or you can just pop the seal out with a dental tool. The idler wheels that have no zerk can be greased this way. Pop the seal out, pump grease between the bearing balls with a needle tip, install the seal again.

And no safety glasses.... Side impacts to most ball bearings makes them fail ASAP.

LOL, you would be surprised how many would put sealed bearings in again and continue to put grease in zerk...
