Trailer questions

If they are 8" and the tread looks like these tires, the 6ply version is only good for 780 lbs each. That would be a total tractor/trailer of 3120lbs.

EDIT...I see you have now said they are 10" wheels...what is the gross weight per tire?

The build is actually awesome .The frt/back ratios look OK to my eye.

Here are my thoughts.
The ramps being full plated might be the actual cause as they are more or less wind catchers.
I'd be very tempted to remove them (if easily done) and try another speed run.
My 2 cent guess is the problem lies there.
They act as wind anchors, so to speak.
Otherwise the ratios look good.

And, please let us know of the results.

I like this idea... but would add that mounting them down on the front of the trailer or possibly placing them in the bed of the truck may make an improvement in the towing (quality) by also transferring the weight forward.

Okay...20.5x8x10 tires can be had in a E ply rating 1500+lbs each. With all the potholes around here, I would want bigger diameter tires....but....still a cool little trailer. I know of one skid steer trailer maker that recommends a slower speed when empty because of the sway issue. Their axles are more in the center of the trailer that makes the tongue weight light.

Looking at your pictures, I would bet that if you took the grapple off and set it in the bed of the truck, then backed the tractor on, you would probably do much better with your weight distribution.
Granted, that might put you a little over the weight limit on your truck's rear axle, but I don't think there's much else that you're going to be able to do with that tractor and that trailer.
The center of gravity of that tractor with the grapple on the front and the backhoe on the back is probably right about at the front of the rear fender (or at the upright for the loader), so that needs to be past the front axle of the trailer if at all possible.

With 10” tires, does the trailer have brakes? If not, that’s asking a lot of the Rangers small brakes to try and stop.

My 16' tilting deck was like that, although I got it used at an auction. Had a mild pucker inducing event on the freeway heading home with it from the auction. Slowly went the rest of the way to a friends. Shoveled a couple hundred lbs of snow on front & it pulled fine the rest of the way. 14k of axles under it, but my 3k of tractor barely fit (it wouldnt have without that long tongue).

I read the Kaufman literature and nowhere do i see what is meant by a "gravity tilt." Aside from this thread and not related to the OP, what is a "gravity tilt" trailer ? First guess is that it means the trailer is jointed and can tilt back some & that plus the beavertail gets the rear lip to the ground ... but does it depend on being able to get the load up onto the lip slightly to provide "gravity tilt?"
