AT&T Wireless Home Phone

Does your mother have internet service? We hardly use our home phone but keep it around since we have had the number for so long. I switched to manic Jack a few years ago. I think it is $50 year and it sounds like a regular land line

She does not have internet service. She is 92 and has never used a computer or ever wanted to.

Buckeye, my Aunt just got it 2 weeks ago in central Texas and she likes it a lot and wants my Mom to get it. She really like that she uses her landline caller id and answering machine and no long distance charges. Oh, it's also $20 less than her land-line was per month. She said the installation charge was about $100. She kept her same landline number also.

Whats it called? I cant find it. What i did find was expensive.

I use US Cellular's version of the home phone product but when I look on their website it says no longer available. My mother has Verizon's wireless home phone - started using it last February. Now their website also says 'No longer available for purchase'.

Why? - who knows.

The signal comes from at&t cell tower not the internet.

Not much difference than just cutting your landline and getting another cell phone with your land line number, but you use your existing landline phone. Advantage - simple for elderly and does not need charging.

AT&T is smart to offer this. Do it with a cell tower and not have to maintain their old cable.

And the web site says as of nov 2017 they no longer offer wireless home phone.
They bundle home service with internet, starts at $70 month.

What can I say my Aunt got it two weeks ago for $29mp. + installation. Of course I was on the phone for 5 hours with AT&T about something else, my mom's direct TV, and talked to 20 different people and all said something different. Stop and shop at an AT&T store, that is what she did.

I see amazon has the wf720 for $65.
