Dump wagon rebuild...

We have a 4 wheeled dump wagon that has a flat steel deck with a wooden deck under it. The wooden deck has seen better days, so it's coming off and is being rebuilt.
Currently it has 4 layers, the main beams that run front to back, 2x4 crossbeams on that, then 1" boards on top of that and steel on the very top.
Trying to make it a little shorter so we can load it with the B7500 a little easier, so the new deck will have the main runners (PT 4x6), then decking (rough cut 2x6 beams on their flat sides), then ice and water shield, then the steel deck.
It will also get 3 tires (all shorter and hopefully painted to match the grey one).

I got the rest of the old dump wagon frame off, then installed the new main beams.

I didn't take any pictures of it, but I had to notch near the front where the supports cradle it so that the main beams could be parallel from front to back. Now they are within 1/8" of being parallel from front to back. Close enough for me.
The other issue I ran into is that the frame for the lift mechanism is taller than the side rails when the deck is down.

As a result, I will run a piece of 2 by 8 laid flat down the top of each main beam to push the deck up, that should give me enough clearance to not hit the lift mechanism when it is all the way down. The other option would be to notch out the deck boards above it, but I don't really want to go there. I am not sure if it would be strong enough in that area or not and it is simpler to run the 2 by 8 down top.

It uses tractor hydraulics, if you look, you should be able to see the hose coiled up in the front of the frame in this picture:

Got back to this project yesterday. The flat steel top had broken loose from the side on the front and back. I put a piece of angle iron on there and welded it on at the top. I still need to weld it on from the bottom as well and weld up the stake pockets that were cut into the deck. The old wood deck had rotted away around the stake pockets, so I am switching to stake pockets that weld onto the outside.
R&P Carriages on eBay had 14 3/16” 2x4 stake pockets for $30, so I ordered those.
