I hope I can do this kind of stuff with my son some day. Very cool.

From the age of 16 to 25, my dad went from one of the stupidest people I know to one of the smartest. Thankfully he never gave up on me and now we are getting to have a great time. If you told me way back then that as I approach 50 that I would be looking forward to spending time with dad working on the farm, I would of told you that you were nuts. Now, I can't wait for Saturday to get here!

Children tend to go "brain dead" as they become teenagers. They normally don't wake up until mid twenties. Sounds like you were normal. :)

We just own 18 acres. Dad was always a city guy. Now he comes over and mows for me almost every weekend. He is to the point that he is giving good advice now on managing the land and getting better pasture for the horses.

I still mow the "tricky" bits and would never let him do that.

Good deal...my dad just turned 71 and can run circles around me. I cherish every moment (even if we are arguing over something :) )

My father was "tough" on me and my three sisters;but we all learned to work and be responsible. All ended up with good jobs and retirements.
We got way behind on our "food plot" work because of the crazy weather;finally got it all done(maybe 25 acres on two farms) with my nephew, son and me all on our own tractors. We had done some preliminary work but most of the planting was done Sunday.Just in time, it is raining right now.I finished the spaying this morning.
All in all it is for the wildlife; and yes we do hunt;birds and deer. The plots benefit all the wildlife, rabbits, turkeys songbirds ect.

Just reminder, this Sunday is Father's day, make sure you take the time to tell him how special he really is to you, don't just assume he knows.

Awesome job! I wish my dad was alive to do stuff like this together. Been gone 25 years and miss him every day.
