Fuel and Oil Filters For 1736 , Where Is Everybody Getting Them???

Anybody find a replacement cab filter for 1736 - measures 16 x 2-3/4 x 3/4

It is hard to imagine there are basically no after market filter alternatives for the 1700 series premium tractors. The only after market filter I have been able to locate for the 1742 is the engine oil filter. MF part number 7064196M91 crosses to a Napa 400116 or Wix 10116, but I can buy the MF filter cheaper than the Napa filter.

Has anyone had any luck finding a cross reference for the HST (MF part # 7069738M1), outer air (MF part # 7068069M1), primary fuel (MF part # 7064120M91), or secondary fuel (MF part # 7064119M91) filters?

My local MF dealer quoted me $19.43 for the engine oil filter, $78.44 for the hydrostatic filter, and $91.98 for the outer air filter - WOW. In comparison, the filters for my JD 5065E cab tractor are less than 1/2 price ($8.44 for the engine oil filter, $40.91 for the hydraulic filter, $38.69 for the primary air filter, $23.37 for the secondary air filter, and $21.73 for the fuel filter).

In preparation for my 50 hour service they also quoted me the following fluid prices: 5 gallons bucket of 821XL is $87.15 and 1 gallon jug is $17.56. They only sell the 10W-30 engine oil in quarts for $4.41 each.

For reference my local JD dealer sells the 10W-30 engine oil for $14.86 per gallon and Hy-Gard for $17.04 for 1 gallon, $41.38 for 2.5 gallons, and $78.98 for 5 gallons.

Check Messicks. Parts for Tractors & Equipment Ordered filter for my 3930 (Oops this is a JD thread) as well as a PTO safety yesterday morning and got them today. Much better prices than the local New Holland guy and they are all here not making two trips to get everything.

I believe the primary filter 7064120M91 is a Mitsubishi 32K62-01010 which is also used on Kobelco mini excavators, but neither has an aftermarket filter available in the US and both are expensive.

Everyone should look for a cross reference for the 7064120M91 and the 32K62-01010 on Wix filters, if they see enough interest, they might make a version.

I’ve been watching this thread for over a year and doing my own research trying to find alternative sourcing for 1758 filters with no luck so I’ve gone another direction. Donaldson #G065411 along with mounting bracket #H008441 is a bolt-in replacement for the OEM air filter housing. Prices vary quite a bit depending on source but after some shopping around I had both pieces delivered for $140. The housing comes pre-loaded with both inner and outer filters so for less than the cost of an OEM filter change you have new filters in a new housing that incorporates cyclonic pre-cleaning like the factory original but the real beauty is now your replacement filters are Donaldson #P822768 (outer) and #P822769 (inner) available for $20-$25ea from multiple sources. The oil filter (7064196M91) crosses to WIX 51344 so now the higher frequency filter changes are a small fraction of what they were when bending over at the dealer parts counter.
The 1742’s on up call for the same filters so it should work on those but the 1736 calls for different filters. This likely wouldn’t work on them but Donaldson may have a solution for those too. I didn’t check but Donaldson #G065411 is part of a family covering a range of sizes. The oil filter is the same from 1736 to 1759.
