This is a lot of discussion of shrinkage of newspapers,, but, has anyone PRICED a Sunday paper lately??
The Rinky Dink Roanoke Times Sunday paper is priced at $4,,, that is not for a months worth,, that is ONE COPY!! :confused2:
AND, the Sunday paper today is about the same size as the Thursday paper was 5-10 years ago,, just a tad bigger than other weekday papers,,
That size estimation even includes the Sunday Coupons,,,![]()
I think the Boston Globe is $2.50 or $3 for the daily. Even the Manchester Union-Leader is up to $1.50 for the daily, so-called "special issues" are double that for an extra section that's mostly ads.
I haven't seen that newspaper coupons are worth the bother...most of 'em seem to be for stuff I'd never buy anyway.
That having been said, add me to the list of those who still enjoy reading the paper. Only pick it up a couple days a week though (Monday, Friday and sometimes Thurs).
We have several weekly freebies too...mostly obituaries and press releases by non profit groups, but some local news not reported elsewhere too.
