The porches were done when we added onto our house in 1998 and have not been redone. They look about like your photo...(so I really think they look fine :) ). They are beaded board and I'd call it low gloss.

I just went back and looked at a close up of your photo...my ceilings do look a bit better off than yours...more evenly covered, maybe. Plus my ceiling didn't fall over on it's side :).

I'll go look at my home addition file and see if there is any indication of what was used to cover them and let you know if I can find any notes.

RNG, When my last wooden shovel handle broke, I decided to try fiberglass. I picked up one of these on sale and with a coupon at Ace Hardware. I like it so much, I picked up a second one so I could leave it down by the bridge...that way I could do a little shoveling every time I went for a hike, and I needed to move some sand. It's been out in the weather a couple of years and still looks new.

I have two of those in my shovel collection.

When i built my house i was in a time crunch, so i painted 1/4" plywood and screwed it on the ceiling of my porch with exposed screws. Still there, but would like to put up something nicer, with a big propeller like Don has... Thing is the siding goes under it, if i change depth, siding should be redone to match.

67°F and .01 inches rain.

Wonder what surprises are in store for today? Maybe the plumber???

Continue with clean up.

Surprise dinner invite to neighbor’s, very nice. She has about 40 peacocks, 20+ lovebirds, 2 dogs, couple of cats, 3 donkeys, and a several month old feral born pig, now castrated. Absolutely entertaining watching this pig frolicking around the yard amongst the other loose animals, tail wagging, just like a puppy. She named him ChopChop and when she calls he stops and looks. Wish I had gotten pics.

House/Pet sitters arrive this afternoon.

Glad to read many are on the mend.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Don, try spraying it with Wet & Forget or Jomax / bleach.

You mix one part Wet & Forget to five parts water in a pump up sprayer. Apply and don't rinse. Results aren't immediate but, it works.

A dismal, rainy 48ºF for today’s low; a damp 53ºF presently which is probably today’s high temperature. A decent morning to get my hairs cut and make a pharmacy pickup.

Tomorrow Brogen returns to the gulag and Wifey and I start prepping for our drive down to SC to see BIL and GF and friends as we eat our way down the east coast and back starting Saturday.

Randy- Only this PM and tonight and tomorrow you’ll be home and in your own bed. Hang in there.

“…. Impressive showing for a rookie goal tender. He was "in the zone”- Mike. I have not yet checked to see if there were any sore loser “Fan” riots here in MA.

I have a similar shovel. Works great a scooping poo off the driveway.

BEF- I agree with Scrambler. From far too many personal experiences such as yours and not taking care of myself afterwards please follow your doctor’s recommendations. In your body’s weakened state you are at risk for additional infections from invasive organisms and further stressing your auto-immune/immune system. I believe my BOOP was due to not taking care of my body following my bouts of pneumonia…. Please take care.

I hope everyone's day is going as planned.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Jay, stop by on your way down, I'll have taters for you!

got a lot done today then misery.
Decided to get really energetic and clean up the potato field, walked behind Husqy awd trimming mower up and down sides of tater rows, knocking down weeds.
Steroids put on weight so trying to get enough exercise. Emboldened, I then mowed most of the collards patch. By then I was red in the face and all walked out, done for the day, coming in to wait on friends. Didn't quite make it. Last thing to trim around was the end pole of clothes line. Turns out big nest of ground bees...
This I did not need at all after last week. Stung twice on left ankle and once on right elbow. Figured this was the big one, came in immediately, showered, ate a benadryl tablet and for first time ever jabbed my leg with epi pen.

What a wonderful mix of chemicals...rolling waves of gastric distress, tight lungs, but slowly improving. Left foot sore and blotchy but seems ok.
going to be a lot of itching tonight.

The show had to go on, got off bed with elevated leg on ice, went out with friends and grandkids to dig potatoes, all the boy wanted to do was catch bugs, couldn't
care less about potatoes. Well it was a five bug day, he was delighted. Now good to get off my feet.

So by time I was done everything was trimmed and neat and ready for harvest. I'm a little worse for the wear but
still here. When I'm not, I'm sure your bandwidth will improve! :D
