What are you folks doing with spent coolant? Parts stores won't take it here, can't dump it in the septic or pour on the ground for wildlife/pets to lap up. I'm very rural and there is no recycle center in the area.

I save it up and then take it my Mechanic who has large bulk tanks of the various used liquids.

Thanks. When I posted that, up pops the previous threads that did NOT show up when I searched. Figured I wasn't the only rural soul with the problem. Just no easy way around it where I live. Nobody will take it. Period!

We also have certain Saturdays, (maybe onece or twice a year) where you can take Hazardous materials in to the County. But, I don't figure the trip on a Saturday, is ever worth taking me away from my projects.

Nobody will take it here either.

That's terrible! Probably makes some just pour it in the environment.

Could just leave it in the Walmart Shopping Cart out in the parking lot.

Substitute some with most everyone. Sure you could pour it back into the container but it’s going to get poured out sooner or later anyway.

Same as I do with excess paint. I use sawdust & chips to absorb it, let it dry some and then put it out with the trash.

Good hot embers from a large brush fire and I have burned a lot of old paint. Not a great idea with cans of expired expanding foam. What a mess to rake off the lawn! That's OK, I got the fun of the kaboom and put the cleanup on her to do list. lol

Pouring it in our "Fire Ring" might not be a bad idea! We burn brush and old rotten wood in a large ring of rocks. Hmmm. According to what I can find on-line, it's not considered hazardous waste in Missouri. Maybe cat litter and the trash would work. The tractor and one car are way overdue for a change.
