I like “Bluewater” harnesses and ropes. Whatever you choose make sure you have leg straps. In the event of an actual fall you’ll be thankful for the support.
I don't like belts, so a waist only harness would have to be a few inches wide. I'd also be concerned that if you DO happen to fall, there might be some serious stress on the midsection if the rope were a bit too slack.
That. I need freedom of movement for placing roof panels and use of tools.
Yeah, I don't need a high dollar certified model.
think of how much your life is worth, and consider you can be a permanent quadriplegic, like Christopher Reeve was, just falling a few feet off a horse!.. I actually would rather die from a fall than be like that!.. to each his own, though, some people can deal with it, others can't!..I see a few in the $30-50 range:

Remember, this is for occasional homeowner use on a roof, not dangling from high iron. But I don't want too cheap.
