I put my amp meter between the faulty Interstate battery negative terminal and the disconnected negative battery cable and measured 3.63 amps with everything off.
Kyle, this duplicated your "light bulb" test.
With the new AC Delco Battery I measure 0.00 amps.
Guess my 4 years at University of Houston paid off?![]()
So take me to school and teach me how that could be, Rick.
Seems like the only way current could flow through your meter is if there was continuity through the wiring harness back to the positive terminal, regardless of whether or not one or more cells were internally shorted.:confused2:
A Battery Tender won't keep up with a 3.6 amp drain; at least the ones I have won't. And expecting to cram 200 amp/hours back into a battery in just an hour seems pretty optimistic; wouldn't that rate of charge damage the battery? I hope you did find the problem, but I would run a load test on that battery in a few days just to make sure.
