Rotary Cutter Brand New Land Pride RCR1242 shaking too much??

Its not just the vibration thats not right, that violent startup is hard on everything. Since the dealer is so far away you could sent him the video. As for shaft length you should be good as long as it is not fully collapsed when it is at its shortest.

Yes it was pretty violent, scared the **** out of me. And when i engage the PTO without the cutter it is butter smooth. I think the shaft length is good, it has 18" of overlap on the inner and outer.

I tried removing the blades but i cant get the 1" 11/16 nut to budge. I think either the blades are too loose, or they are bent. That kind of jives with the vibrations changing as the cutter angle is changed, i think.

When they loaded it into my truck his first two attempts were with a forklift from below the cutter. He was unsuccessful and used a sling from above on the next attempt, i wonder if the blades got bent. What ever the case, its beyond my ability now, so I will contact them in the morning, send the video and prob make a trip out there. He did have another one in stock.

I want to say thanks for all the help here, we tried!

I think you may be onto something. I bought a new Woods 72" cutter a couple of months ago. The guy working the lot came out and started to slide under with a forklift. I told him that's not happening- he could go and get some chain or slings and we would pick it up and set it on my trailer. Acted disgusted but did as I asked. I was worries about damage from picking it from underneath.

Make sure the ends of the shaft are phased correctly. If the vibration changes with the height, it sounds like the u joints are not properly phased.

How do I check the phase? I don’t know what that is

Here is a longer video with what sounds like the blades pinging.

Your shaft overlap is ok but that is WAY too much shaking. If your shaft phasing (yokes lining up correctly) is off, your pto shaft will be trying to speed up and slow down the mower 2x every revolution. The problem gets worse as the angles get steeper on the u-joints.

Ok i think i got the gist of shaft phase. My understanding is the universal joints look like a "+" sign and that the two + signs must be in alignment with each other (not make an X) when viewing down the shaft. I checked this, and they are in alignment. the dealer is reviewing my videos now, hopefully i'll hear back soon. He said they will shake a little, but agreed too much shaking isnt right...

Actually, the most common mistake is to have the yoke 90 degrees off.
