I would like to know what the dealer finds wrong with the one he took back!

Make sure to idle tractor fully down before engaging switch. The light thud will always occur as implement starts. I never heard of pto phasing before, interesting. I do know that all my pto shafts have an internal spline that allow it to be installed only 1 way. I have one set that is actually more of a rectangle, so it can only fit together one way.

I have heard of it with drive shafts, where you can adjust the angles with the splines. But never heard of it with a PTO, probably just for that reason. Though it does make sense if your have an older shaft maybe? But something this new, they are typically keyed and welded perfectly from the manufacture. The shafts I have are all different with sometimes odd patterns that only allow them to go together one way. I am suspecting that this shaft was bent.

I am curious too what they may find. The dealer was very easy to work with, no questions asked once he saw the video. I’m just glad they had another one in stock. The 42” ones are hard to come by in my area.

Older pto's on trucks were just square shafts so you could get them off by 90 degrees. Also, long medium duty trucks had multiple piece drive shafts that could go together countless ways to create vibrations. If you run equipment with a big flywheel like a baler, you really notice a un-phased shaft, especially when turning.
