I did not know he had passed. Is there a thread?

2Lane . . . his sister I believe responded in one of his threads . . . had a fire at his place and passed away of smoke inhalation, sad.

This thread an old blast from the past . Bumping it up . I guess the real Monty Walsh types to busy to post on here or they becoming almost extinct "unfortunately" . Perhaps someone here will see this and share a tale about "GranPa" , Uncle -----
or ? . Anyone ??? Oh btw as for me I don't claim to be a real cowboy . Somebody out here got a story .......

BB I do have a story about my mom and one of my uncles (both RIP), they were playing Cowboys and Indians like we all did and decided to hang the bad guy, in this instance it was a goat . . . my mom said they were never going to do it just playing, well they did end up hanging that goat, not on purpose mind you, did too good of a job for the event. This was back in the early 1920's.

Bullbreaker from Wanda A (Crash 325's older sister that lives in Tombstone) Our paternal grandfather (Jim's Biological father's dad) was a circuit rider preacher in Oklahoma and Texas. I don't don't know any details. Only heard it mentioned once. He died about 1950. All the relatives that would know anything it on that side of the family are now dead.

Molalla1 his older sister used to post here on occasion (TBN) "Wanda A" .

I don't know how I missed this thread. I wish I had met Crash325.

Years ago I moved into Pleasant Valley and have been fascinated by the history of the war. I have read every book on the subject I can find. The link below has some inaccuracies. That is the first place I have seen the Wells incident related to the feud.

Pleasant Valley War

Interesting reading with pictures.

Pleasant Valley War - Wikipedia

Also, the latest book on the subject by Jinx Pyle (incidentally a real cowboy by anyone's definition) names the killer of the sheepherder. It seems the name was well known to many locals, but since there is no statute of limitations on murder, the name of the shooter was not revealed until he died several years ago. For those interested I would recommend Pyle's book and one written several years ago by Don Dedera.
